Overview
As Malaysias Oil and Gas Industry progresses, the local companies have become prominent service providers in
the areas of exploration and production (E&P) operators in Malaysia, and are also capable of providing their
services (and products) globally.
Malaysian oil and gas companies are competent in providing multi-disciplinary services which include among
others, process design, mechanical and piping design, structural and civil design, electrical and instrumentation, oil
rigs engineering and fabrication, welding and pipe threading, environmental management such as total sludge
management which involves sludge quantification, sludge removal and sludge treatment.

Malaysia offshore fabrication is becoming one of the major activities in the oil & gas and maritime

The Oil, Gas and Energy - National Key Economic Area (NKEA)
The oil, gas and energy industry plays a prominent role in the Malaysian economy, contributing to one-fifth
of the national GDP over the past decade. This NKEA places emphasis on building Malaysias services and
manufacturing sector while retaining incentives to ensure constant production levels, as well as moving
into alternative forms of energy, ranging from solar power to electric vehicles. Collectively, the EPPs for
this NKEA are projected to generate GNI of RM131.4 billion and create 52,300 new jobs by 2020.
