Introduction:
Epracto is skill enhancement software developed
exclusively for the colleges to test their students
ability which will give regular assessment report to
the college authorities on where their students stand
every time they take the test. The test includes a
plethora of questions which have been used by
various corporate on various domains and aptitude,
verbal etc.

Key features:
Assessment platform
Professors can customize the tests to assess their students to meet the varied
requirements.

Evaluation
Epracto tests produce instant evaluation reports with detailed explanation for correct
as well as incorrect answers.

Reporting
EPracto provides customized reporting which enables the authorities to extract any
information they want.

Performance Trending
The test reports details the progression of the performance of the students over a
period of time.

Student Profiling
Professors can do the profiling of their students according to their skill sets and can
map roles suited for them in the corporate world.

Cloud App
There is no need to worry about data loss as it is stored permanently using cloud.

Options under Admin login:

1. Dashboard (The Overview of your College):


The dashboard, which can be accessed after logging in, gives a quick look of the entire system be it the
number of students, licenses used, test details like types of test, number of tests taken per branch,
branch wise performance etc.

Both these can be viewed year wise or altogether for the entire course.

2. Course Management:
This option allows the admin user to add / edit / remove any courses and specializations for the
software.
Adding a new course:

Fill all the relevant fields


(Course Pattern: Semester / Year)

Click on Add Course button


Adding Specializations:
Click on Course Management
Select Specialization

Select the course (from the dropdown)


Type the Specialization name
Enter a Short name for the same (e.g. Mech for Mechanical)
Click on Add Specialization button
Its mandatory to add the course and Specialization fields before uploading the student
data (either bulk upload / manually)

Editing a Course:

Select the course to be edited


Click on edit button at the bottom left side of the screen
Click on Save after editing is done
If want to cancel the editing without saving click on
Deleting a course:
Similarly select the course to be deleted

Click on the Delete button

Editing and Deleting Specialization:


Follow the same process as mentioned above

3. Students:
The option enables the admin user to add/edit/delete student details as per the requirement.
There are 2 ways of adding student(s) to the software
a- Bulk uploading via Excel file
b- Manually adding student via the interface
Adding students (Bulk uploads)

The student details should be available in an Excel file for bulk upload
Click on Browse and locate the file in your hard-drive
Click on Upload Data button
Post successful upload, all the column headers will appear in the Matching Excel Field section

Match the relevant column headers against each field (Only Red fields are mandatory)
Click on Save button, once matching is done
Ensure the Year data in the Excel file is in Numeric format (1, 2, 3, 4) and the email ids
do not contain any space after the text.

Adding students (Manually):

Click on the Manual Upload Student link under Students ---> Add students Menu

Fill up the details (Name, E-mail, Course, Specialization and Year are mandatory)
Click on Add student button

Editing student details:


Click on View Students

Select the Course, Specialization and Year to view the respective students
Select the student to be modified / deleted
Click on the following button(s) for the same

Edit

Save

Cancel

You can also manually search a student by typing the initials of his / her name in the
search box given.

4. Groups:
This option allows the admin to create different combination of students from different course /
specialization under different group names to assign them with similar kind of tests and monitor them
accordingly.
e.g.,
A group can be all B.Tech Specialization scoring above 80%.
Another group can be CSE and ISE students shortlisted for XYZ company (To prepare them on
specific set of assignments)
Creating a Group:

Type the Group name


Click on Add Group button

Select the Course, Specialization & year to add the respective students to this group
Click on List Students button

Select the student(s)


Click on Add Student button

A student can be included in more than one group. The admin user can view the same
under this option and can edit the same too (if required)

Editing Groups:

Click on View Group


Select the Group to be edited
Use the following buttons as required

Delete

Edit

Save

5. Test Location:
This option allows creating / editing the Test locations (Venues) for further tests to be conducted. This is
useful when the college authorities want the test to be conducted inside the college campus for the
respective students. It also throws an alert if the assigned number of students for a given test exceeds
the available number of systems in the allocated venue.
Creating a Test location:

Enter the location Name and other details


Click on the Add Venue button

The number of systems in the Test location should be more than the number of
students to be assigned the test on a later stage.

6. Patterns:
This is the option to create various permutations and combinations of different types of question with
different difficulty levels for which can be used at different levels of the assessment process as per the
requirement.
There are some pre-defined patterns created by Formac, considering the specific needs of various
companies / the Industry as a whole. The admin user also can create their own custom patterns catering
to the needs of their students requirements.
Creating Customer Patterns:

Type a name for your custom patter


Select all the mandatory fields (Sections, Level, No. of questions, and Duration)
Click on Add button
Editing Custom Patterns
Only Patterns created by the user (custom patterns) can be edited / deleted. The
system doesnt allow doing any changes to the pre-defined patterns.

Select the Pattern to be edited
Use the following buttons as required

Edit

7. Exams
Exams can be created any time by the admin user and can be assigned to the target group of students at
any point of time later. Once assigned to the students, they will get the password via their registered
mail ids to access the exam.
In order to ensure fair practice, a unique proctor id is generated after the exam
creation, which has to be entered by the students along with the password to open the
specific exam assigned to them

There are 4 types of exams available in Epracto:

4. Programming Exam
The Exams can be created in 2 ways; Creating a New Exam or Copying an Existing Exam
Creating a new exam
1. Pattern Exam:
There are 2 inbuilt Patterns available; 1. Formac Statandard Pattern, 2. Company Pattern.
Apart from this the admin user can create his / own Custom Patterns as and when required.

The English Listening type of exams has 2 options; 1. English Speaking, 2. ListeningComprehension.

Click on the type of Pattern to be used


(Default / Custom / Company)

Select the Pattern from the drop-down

Select the Students from Course / Groups


Select the Course / Group Name from the list
Select the Year from the Box

Select the Venue


Select the Date of the Exam
Select the Time of the Exam
Select the Cut-off Date and Time
Click on Next

The Exam will start automatically as per the selected Date and Time and will be
unavailable automatically too as per the Cut-off Date and Time

Step 2:

Type a Name for the Exam


Select the Other fields as per requirement
Click on Next

Click on Save to complete the Exam

2. ELIS Exam:

This type of exam is basically to assess the English Speaking and comprehension skills
of the students.
There are 2 sections for this exam; 1. English Speaking and 2. Listening &
Comprehension.
New Exams can be created by the admin user in 3 easy steps.

Step 1:

Select either of the Section (will start with English Speaking)


Fill all the details appropriately

Click on Next
Step 2:

Select the Students from Course / Groups


Select the Course / Group Name from the list
Select the Year from the Box

Type the Exam Name


Select the Venue
Select the Date of the Exam
Select the Time of the Exam
Select the Cut-off Date and Time
Click on Next
Step 3:

Click on Save to complete the Exam

3. Essay-Email Exam:

This helps to assess the Writing skill of the students.


There are 2 sections for this exam; 1. Essay Writing and 2. E-mail Writing.
New Exams can be created by the admin user in 3 easy steps.

Step 1:

Select either of the Section (will start with Essay Writing)

Fill all the details appropriately


Click on Next

Step 2:

Select the Students from Course / Groups


Select the Course / Group Name from the list
Select the Year from the Box

Type the Exam Name

Select the Date of the Exam
Select the Time of the Exam
Select the Cut-off Date and Time
Click on Next
Step 3:

Click on Save to complete the Exam

4. Programming Exam:

This can be used to assess the programming / coding skill of the students.
Programming exams can be assigned for C, C++ & Java.
New Exams can be created by the admin user in 3 easy steps.

Step 1:

Select either of the programming language


Fill all the details appropriately

Click on Save
Then Click on Next
Step 2:

Select the Students from Course / Groups


Select the Course / Group Name from the list
Select the Year from the Box

Type the Exam Name


Select the Venue
Select the Date of the Exam
Select the Time of the Exam
Select the Cut-off Date and Time

Step 3:

Click on Save to complete the Exam

Creating an Exam from earlier saved Exams:

Choose Copy Existing Exam

Fill in all the fields


Click on Next
Follow Step 2 & Step 3 for each category, as described above

Viewing and Editing Saved Exams:


The Admin user can view all the closed and open exams along with the upcoming exams and also can do
the necessary modifications to those.

Click on View Exams

The Admin can Cancel / Stop any open exam, Can Cancel / Reschedule the upcoming
exams and can View the Attendance and Performance details for all completed exams.

The Dashboard screen gives the details of all the students who are supposed to appear and their
current status on the same on a real-time basis.
It also shows the score for all completed students.
The Exam data can be exported to different formats for further analysis / record keeping by the
college.

the same.

8. Reports:
This option gives various types of analysis of the tests conducted and
the student performance (both overview and in-depth). There are
different types of reports available in the tool, suitable for specific
roles, along with the option of custom reports too.

Management:
This gives a birds eye view of the year wise overall comparative performance of the students of all the
branches.

HOD
With this report the user can get the comparative performance of any 2 branches; e.g., comparison
between CSE and ISE student performance for all the four years.

Students:
Student wise performance report can be viewed through this option for any particular course, year and
specialization.

Performance Reports:
This gives the Top students (any number) for a given type of test and given year.

360 Reports:
This gives a detailed insight into all the tests conducted till date.

The Main screen gives an overview of attendance and absent statistics for each test.
To get the details of performance, click on the Exam Name for the respective Test, which leads to the
Section-wise graphical and data reports.

Further click on the Individual Student Name, will present the detailed analytic for him / her in all the
past exams attempted till date.
