L'AFRICOM va travailler avec SES, le fournisseur de
liaison de donnes en bande Ku

"Avec 55 satellites en orbite, SES Government Solutions est le principal fournisseur priv de
SATCOM du Pentagone. Pour voir sa flotte et des dtails sur les bandes passantes, cliquer ici.
Le Pentagone vient de lui attribuer un march de 8,2 millions de dollars pour des prestations en
Allemagne et "en Afrique de l'Ouest" (lire ci-dessous). Il s'agit de "ku-band communications"
(transmissions de donnes en bande Ku) utilises, en particulier pour les drones ou plus
exactement les RPA (voir ici la page consacre aux RPA sur le site de SES).
On peut donc imaginer que si cette prestation concerne les "Orbites Permanentes de Surveillance
Armables et Multi-capteurs" amricaines, elle bnficiera aux trois Reaper de l'US Air Force de

Niamey.
SES Government Solutions, McLean Virginia, has been awarded an $8,245,160 firm-fixed-price
contract for the purchase of commercial on-orbit transponders to support Ku-band
communications for U.S. Africa Command and operations and sustainment support for a base year
and four one-year options. Work will be performed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany and the
western portion of Africa, and is expected to be complete by Aug. 5, 2019. This award is the result
of a full and open competition, and two offers were received. Fiscal 2014 procurement funds in the
amount of $8,000,000 are being obligated at time of award. The Space and Missile Systems
Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California is the contracting activity (FA8808-14-C-0001). "
