ANNUAL REPORT - 2014-15

Department Activities
1) A book entitled C Programming: An Absolute Beginners Guide was
written by the students of II B.Sc Computer Science. It was released by
Mr.S.Saravana Prabhu, Chief Financial Officer, SP Exports and Imports
on 25/07/2014.
2) A two days workshop Adobe Photoshop and illustrator was organized
03/09/2014. Mr. Prasanth from IFX Animation acted as chief guest and

gave training for the students of II B.Sc CS & III B.Sc CS.
3) A guest lecture was organized on Wireless Technology in Day to Day
Life for the students of I B.Sc CS & I B.Sc Networking. Mr. S.Ambedkar,

delivered

lecture

on

wireless

communication & HAM Radio on 15/10/2014.

4) One week Microsoft Technical Associate Certification training was
arranged for II B.Sc CS students. Resource person Mr. S.Perumalsamy,
Web Designer from Elysium Technology, Madurai gave the training for the
students on 25/08/2014.
5) Students of I B.Sc CS attended a training session on N+ Certification and
students of III B.Sc CS attended training on J2EE Certification. The
training session was given by Vectra Soft Technologies, Chennai from 8
sep 2014 to 15 sep 2014.
6) M.Suruthi Laksmi of I B.Sc CS published a research paper entitled A
study and Analysis of Breast Cancer in International Journal of
Computer Science and Software Engineering.

Faculty Members Contributions towards research

1) Mr.R.S Vetrivel has submitted his Ph.D thesis in Anna University.
2) S.Pandikumar, Asst.Professor, Dept of Computer Science Presented a
paper entitled Internet of Things Based Architecture of Web and Smart
Home Interface Using GSM in IEEE International Conference on
Innovation in Engineering and Technology held at KLN College of
Engineering, Madurai on 21st and 22nd March 2014.
3) S.Pandikumar, Asst.Professor, Dept of Computer Science Presented a
paper entitled Analysis and Principles of Green UI Design for Web
Portals in International Conference on Global Innovations in Computing
Technology held at JayShri Ram Group of Institution, Tirupur on 6 th and
7th March 2014.
4) S.Pandikumar, Asst.Professor, Dept of Computer Science Presented a
paper entitled Sensor Based Smart Learning Environment using
Ambient Intelligence in International Conference on Nano Electronics
Science and Technology held at Sri Vasavi College, Erode, 14 th and 15th
Feb 2014.
5) S.Pandikumar, Asst.Professor, Dept of Computer Science presented a
paper entitled Green Computing in two days national seminar on Green
Computing held at Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College, Sivakasi, on 29 th
and 30th Jan 2014.
6) M.Hemalatha Asst.Professor, Dept of Computer Science presented a
paper entitled Study and Overview of Women and Higher Education in
India on national level conference held at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker
College, Madurai on 22nd August 2014.
7) S.Pandikumar, Asst.Professor, Dept of Computer Science published a

12) N.Anuradha, Coordinator, Dept of Computer Science has attended one
weak training programme on Psycho educational skills for college
teachers which was conducted by Madurai district Administration and
National rural health mission at American College, Madurai from
24/11/2014 to 29/11/2014.

1) M.Sobana,III B.Sc CS won the second prize in Graphical Designing
event conducted by N.M.S SERMATHAI VASAN COLLEGE FOR WOMEN,
Madurai on 13/08/2014.
2) P.Sathasivam and A.Karthikeyan of III B.Sc CS presented a paper
entitled Women in Higher Education in India on national level
conference held at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai on
22nd August 2014.
3) 8 Students of III B.Sc CS attended International Seminar on Cyber
security Awareness in Dr.N.G.P Arts Science College, Coimbatore on
25/08/2014.

4) 8 Students of III B.Sc CS attended an Arduino Controlled Robotics
