What Makes Man Truly Human?

The philosophy of the human person has brought me to different dimensions which revealed
the factors affecting my degree of humanity. After knowing the philosophies and ideas of Moga,
C.S Lewis, Heidegger, Morri and many others, what could really be the answer? Once I know the
answer, would that make me truly human? I am this participant along with the world in a race that
would take an uncertain amount of time but what is only certain is that there will be a finish line.
In every race, the goal is to finish first but in this race the only goal is that Im human when I
finish regardless of being the first or last. From the second I was born, I am already existing to be
human. Although I am biologically human, to be human entails a deeper recognition of the self,
of society, and of the world that I was thrown in and then deriving a connection to what it all
means, what does my existence mean? Is your existence just a coincidence or do you have a
purpose in the world that is waiting to be fulfilled? It sounds like each of us has a destiny or that
God has a will for us but this does not necessarily dictate the consciousness of man because each
is his own unique blueprint and is wired to respond differently. Although concepts beyond mans
comprehension eludes him from the truth as it is open for discussion, man always finds the
simplest way to live his life and derive meaning from it. But humans can also contradict
themselves. That is the beauty of being human, we are complex beings and this is attributed
mainly because we feel, and we have a heart. The heart should dictate the mind while the brain
provides oxygen to the heart in order for it to live. If from the inside, there is a system of organs
which work together in order for the biological self to live, then in the planes of existence where
most of us walk, and what our eyes could see, human beings exist to work together. The existence
of man is momentous. One single action can breed dramatic effects into the world. History has
proven this many times and it materialized through one single invention or an outbreak of global
warfare. That is why, I think we have to look into ourselves deeper, of our great importance in this
world. Upon realizing that I am more than what I believe what I could be, then you will find your
worthiness. This momentous existence should be shared with all others who are existing with
their own sense of importance. This importance is manifested by the effects it would harbor
across generations. And man is the only one capable of bringing about these effects. If the self
recognizes that he may either be a glimmer of hope or a bringer of despair, that he can be good or
bad, that the different choices that life, circumstances, and opportunities provide him may lead to
different outcomes as his choice is rooted from his own unique foundation and set of own
principles, then he finishes as a human or not in this race by death for those who are left behind
may either prosper or suffer their humanity because of the consequences of your actions.
