of business. One of his favourite quotes was Never afraid to grab all the chances even it is
risky.
His personality as the one of the bravest and youngest entrepreneurs pushed him to be
the best among the best. He once said, Car is my passion and it will always be. I know my
father works as a contractor and I am very happy that he chose that career. I want to try
something new and challenge myself, therefore Naza Corp is established. Since then, he
started his move by appointing 20 APs and went to Japan with his RM80,000 budget to stay
there for 3 months. When he went back to Malaysia, he brought 20 used cars from Japan to
be sold here. With luck by his side, he sold all the 20 cars within 3 months. After the
successful respond from the public, he opened his first showroom at Taman Maluri and sold
about 10 to 15 cars a month. In 1979, he spread his business and opened a new branch at
Kampong Baru, Kuala Lumpur. This new branch helped him to sell more cars roughly around
40 to 60 cars a month. Starting with only 5 workers, now he got almost 4000 people work
under him.
The obstacles and hardship being pushed to the limit.
After a successful business in importing car for 26 years, he was tested by a huge
controversial issue that pushed him to be more dedicated to what he started earlier. He was
accused to be one of the tycoons in importing car (AP) business and made the other local
companies unable to approach in that business field. Its been told that he and another three
person tried to rule out Malaysia car business even with the local one which is Proton Berhad.
The issue becoming worse as the government involved in this matter by giving him the free
document to importing cars which is worth USD 8500 for each one. However, he remained
calm to handle this matter even it was being up to Parliament and finally the AP system been
abolished to make the new era of local automobile in Malaysia. His hardship in this business
got an attention from the former Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Mohamad. Tun Mahathir said
that Tan Sri Nasimuddin is the role model and Malaysian icon to the New Economic Policies
(NEP).
Conclusion
The late Tan Sri Nasimuddin was a living proof to show to Malaysians that everything
is possible if we are determined and never give in in every single thing we do. We can
achieve success if we push ourselves to the limit and always believe that everything big thing
must start from the little effort.
The leadership of Tan Sri Nasimuddin that should be followed by others. Tan Sri
Nasimuddin SM Amin showed us how things could be possibly turn into reality if we put our
highest efforts in order to achieve our main goals. One does not simply turn into a successful
entrepreneur unless he doesnt do what he had to do; which is hardwork.
Some of the wise quotes from the late Tan Sri Nasimuddin:
Looking forward to any opportunities and fight for it
Have a self confidence and trust yourself
Perseverance is the key to success
Be firm on everything you do
~AL FATIHAH~
Tan Sri will always be our proudness and our idol. Thank you for the hardship and the
sacrifice in your life. May Allah grant you with His blessing and place you among the Solihin
person. Amen.
