To keep the piezo as low as possible to avoid any

contact with the board below it, solder the included
wire very close to the bottom of the leads then cut
the excess lead away. Then you can add a bead of
hot glue on top of the soldered areas.

When using hotglue on this case, be careful as

too much heat may cause the case to warp or
have a noticeable texture caused by too much
heat. Just apply a little at a time, allow to cool
and add more if needed.

I have already added wire to the switches and

LEDs, so following this color coded wire
diagram will guide you where to solder the
wires to the board.

BOTTOM PANEL
With the 2 standoffs on the board opposite of
where the USB is, insert the upside down USB
plug into the USB hole. Insert the red LED from
the inside to peak out the bottom panel then
apply hot glue to each corner of the PCB
connecting the board to the back panel. Then
add a dab of hot glue just enough to keep the
LED in place.

If you have an unassembled kit, install everything on the PCB except the 3 tactiles, 2 LEDs,
Speaker, Display header, and Power switch.

The Alert Piezo does not

need to have a hole to the
outside as the piezo is very loud
and can be heard from the
inside of the case.

double sticky foam.

Only these two

standoffs are needed

Because space is limited inside the case & the display headers no longer
line up, solder the display wire band to the PCB and bend the display
male headers down as shown to the left. Please follow the color order as
shown below or damage may occur to the display if not correct.
I have included an extra set of right angle male headers if you break these.

To keep the piezo as low as possible to avoid any

contact with the board below it, solder the included

These are the 2 standoffs you MUST use to keep the PCB level. If you want further stability,
you can also add a dab of hot glue to connect the standoffs to the case after you have hot
glued the USB side.

Step 3

Assuming that you used the (2) 8mm standoffs on only one side of the PCB to keep it flat (not
the side with the USB) Make sure that the USB port fits snug inside its hole as shown in the
picture above with the metal part coming out. The LED will be put in after in next step.

Step 1

MyGeiger 2.1 Final PCB mount instructions

Step 3 (adding hot glue under the standoffs) is optional and I dont do it so I can easily take out
the PCB later. And besides, the boards stays down pretty well with all the wire inside. As long
as the board is well connected to the bottom panel, Its all you will need to keep it snug inside.

Step 4

With the bottom panel & PCB inserted, insert the Red LED into its hole from the inside peeking
outside as shown and then while holding the PCB firmly against the back panel, add a dab of
hot glue as shown and also to each corner of the PCB connecting it to the bottom panel.

Step 2

Warning: when using hot glue on the case, be sure to be fast and try to cool it down
right away by blowing on it. If you put too much glue down too fast, it can cause the
case to show signs of melting on the opposite side of where you are gluing
