If you bring goods worth more than 150 EUR into Germany (e. g. as gifts, not something you will take
with you again), you will need to pay taxes on them. There are also things that you just mustn't bring
into Germany:
- endangered animals and their products
- medicine from outside the EU, except for your personal use
- drugs and drug ingredients
- fireworks, except in very specific circumstances
- dangerous dog races, except for short-term touristy visits
- certain foods, like potatoes or wild mushrooms
- pirated products, imitations
- media with unconstitutional content (racism, Nazi content and symbols, anti-democratic ideas)
- porn involving children or animals
- certain animals and animal products that may carry a disease
- weapons, weapon parts and ammunition (incl. butterfly knives)
