III. Proposal
Why should we vote for Grace Poe for presidency and Chiz Escudero for
vice presidency?
Today, Filipino voters are sick and tired of candidates who belong to
political dynasties such as Vice President Jojo Binay, Ferdinand (Bong Bong)
Marcos, Jr., and other trapos, or traditional politicians. In contrast, Senator
Grace Poe is the first in her family to win a national elective position. She
does not have any close relative who occupies an elective or appointive
political position. Grace Poe represents the Future of Philippine politics while
other candidates, are the personifications of the corrupt past and morecorrupt present state of governance. Grace Poe will be the smart choice and
presumed logical choice, who understands more the feelings and sentiments
of the young voters. Some may say that she may not have enough
experience. But we should not forget how Cory Aquino successfully deflected
the accusation by her opponent that she did not have any experience by
saying that she did not have the experience of stealing from the public
treasury nor the experience of getting kickbacks from huge governmental
projects and contracts. She may not belong to any party list, but that would
not be a downside. It would deflect the political party politicking. She would
definitely not be alone, and would build a great team to govern the country
effectively.
As of Chiz Escudero, a Sorsogonon in blood, he and Poe have already
talked about being a tandem, and have synchronized their platforms for the
up and coming elections. He already prepared platforms for each department
to address the problems of all the sectors, and would use the annual budget
as a framework. While doing this, he would prevent the possibility of graft
and corruption. He also vows to push for the passage of the Freedom of
Information Bill to eliminate corruption in the government. For him, if we will
minimize discretion, we will minimize corruption. Eliminate it and so would
the other.
