2.2 Actions
Connect to Active APUB board and Login
1. Connect to the active node. Go to Operational Instruction AP, User Session,
Initiate. Perform the steps in that Operational Instruction and return to Step 2.
2. Was it possible to login?
Yes
Go to Step 3.
No
Go to Step 41.
3. Print the Board slot numbers. Enter command
hwmls
Note:
Check <APUB board Slot number> received in the work order is the one of faulty
board. This info will be used in next steps.
Warning!
Be careful when removing the cables. They are easily damaged.

12. Note:
13. It is important that the cables will be reconnected in the same channels (SAS-0
respective SAS-1) where they were removed from.
Replace Faulty APUB Board
12. Replace the faulty board with the replacement board.
Note:
When you have loosened the faulty board from the cabinet a few millimeters,
check that all screws are loose - they have a tendency to still be connected by a
half turn.
Reconnect cables

respective SAS-1) where they were removed from.
ipmi_upg -f
Note:
Compare Running IPMI FW state and IPMI FW revision with output of Step 5.
24. Is the IPMI firmware of replaced Board identical to Active's one ?
Yes
Go to Step 40.
No
Go to Step 25.
25. Check watchdog status.
Use command hwmls -l | findstr -i watchdog.
Note:
If printout comes as "Watchdog Status: OFF" then watchdog is in disable state.
Note:
If printout gives "Watchdog Status: <someValue>" then watchdog is in enable
state. Note down the value of watchdog.
26. Disconnect from the replaced node. Go to Operational Instruction AP, User
Session, End. Perform the steps in that Operational Instruction and return toStep
27.
27. Connect to the active node. Go to Operational Instruction AP, User Session,
Initiate. Perform the steps in that Operational Instruction and return to Step 28.
28. Disable the watchdog on both nodes.
Use command hwmset -n own disable hwmset -n other disable.
29. Stop the APBM and HWM server.cluster res ACS_APBM_Server_0 /offcluster res
ACS_APBM_Server_1 /off
30. Upgrade firmware.
Use command ipmi_upg -U <path> -S SCBRP_MasterIP:slot.
Note:
where <path> is the path to the firmware file.
31. Check the firmware version of the upgraded board.
Use command ipmi_upg -f -S scbrep_ipaddress:slot.
32. Was the upgrade of firmware successful?
