Praise the Lord for the work He is doing here in Brazil! These recent months have been marked less by exciting new developments and more by the mundane events of daily life and ministry (though life here is never really mundane), but still there is much for which we can praise the Lord!
The Sunday School services have been going well with a number of children coming faithfully and others visiting. We are very burdened to reach the young people and see them grow up to be faithful servants of Christ. Through these Sunday morning classes, the children are hearing lessons from the Bible and memorizing scripture every week. Please continue to pray that Gods Word would work in their hearts, bringing them to Salvation and spiritual growth.
The attendance in the evening has been down some. Weve had a number of people come and visit for a single service, either out of respect for us or out of curiosity, and never return; though there are some that come more faithfully. There have even been a few services where it was just our family and our coworkers. However, we are confident that we are doing the Lords work here and are trusting in Him to do the real work - in the hearts of the people here.
Our family continues to do well. Johnathan and Mahalia have been back in school for a while now. Both of them enjoy reading and spend much of their day hidden away in their room - or a hammock - with a book or two! Johnathan has also started taking Karate lessons and loves it! He is the smallest (and youngest) in the class, but the other students have had great patience with him and he is doing quite well. It has also been an excellent opportunity to make more friends from the community here. Besides teaching our kids school, Tracy has also been teaching a couple of weekly English classes for some neighbor girls. Although we are constantly surrounded by our Brazilian neighbors and friends, we get involved in activities like these with the specific intention of opening more doors for ministry, so please pray that God would give us wisdom to know which activities would make best use of our time and energy here.
Another blessing in the past several months is that the currency exchange rate has strengthened quite a bit in our favor. This has blessed us with the opportunity to do some things financially that we wouldnt have been able to do otherwise Praise the Lord!
Again, we want to thank you for your continued prayer and support for our ministry.
God Bless, Omar Schrock and Family Rondonpolis, Brazil
