ESSENCE MAHAMUDRA: SPACE, TIME & ENERGY

Transforming experience through

the realization of the true nature of mind

A weekend program with Patrick Sweeney Trim Lhawang

NOVEMBER 6 8, 2015
Public Talk Friday 7 p.m. & Weekend Seminar all day Saturday & Sunday

How we experience the world is a direct reflection of how we
experience our minds. The Buddhist teachings on essence
mahamudra provide a clear explanation of the nature of mind
as empty of conceptual confusion, spacious, and effortlessly
radiating an unbiased sanity. Because of the habitual patterns
of conditioned mind, the natural state, or buddha mind, is
difficult to recognize, but it can be pointed out on the spot by
a genuine teacher. Once recognized, the skillful means of the
Buddhist path are infused by this fundamental awareness.

Cost: Friday night talk no charge; weekend $295 includes

accommodation and all meals.

Patrick Sweeney Trim Lhawang is the holder of the transmission of the Karma Kagy lineage of
Tibetan Buddhism given by the Venerable Vidyadhara, Chgyam Trungpa Rinpoche to his
Western dharma heir, Vajra Regent sel Tendzin, and then conferred upon Mr. Sweeney.
Satdharma is the name of the organization established by Mr. Sweeney in 1990 to propagate the
teachings of this lineage stream within a contemporary context.

HOME: All of us are looking for home in one way or another. Where is home? Trungpa
Rinpoche's great message was that home is the abiding nature of mind in its pristine
brilliance. Home is a mind that is spotless and fearless and able to engage the present
moment without the past or future impinging upon it. Home is the present moment just as it
is, without projections of permanence or attributing to it the despair of a nihilistic mind. Home
is a mind that is able to meet the present moment as a continuous celebration. This is what
we are aspiring to do in our practiceto return to that space of home over and over again.
