For four years, the Tourism & Convention Bureau of the Municipality of Mexicali
has published this Medical Guide that seeks to be a reference for visitors who
come to Mexicali, looking for medical attention. In this fourth edition, we have
gotten together information regarding doctors, hospitals and providers of health
services, which through the years have created an upward trajectory of prestige, honesty and excellent results, contributing in this way to make our city an
outstanding destination that offers integral services in medical tourism, always
keeping an excellent balance between quality and cost.

Por cuatro aos, el Comit de Turismo y Convenciones del Municipio de Mexicali ha publicado est gua mdica que busca ser un punto de referencia para
aquellos visitantes que vienen a Mexicali en bsqueda de atencin mdica. En
esta cuarta edicin, nos hemos dado a la tarea de recopilar informacin de
mdicos, hospitales y proveedores de servicios de salud, que a travs de los

Mexicali es un municipio joven, dinmico y prspero, el cual se ha convertido en la Capital de la Salud. Como Presidente Municipal, es para m

HOW THE MEDICAL

LANE WORKS?
The Medical Lane is an access at the border crossing only for foreigners that used
health services in Mexicali such as hospitals, clinics, doctors, drugstores or laboratories
that are members of the Medical lane and provide to patients a pass to return to the
U.S. through the Medical Lane that has less waiting time to cross the border than the
regular lanes. In order to be able to use the Medical Lane, a patient must:

Show and give the Medical Lane Pass at the lane entrance. The pass must be
filled out correctly and stamped by COTUCO and the doctor, hospital, drugstore
or laboratory where the patient was treated or bought the medication
Drive a vehicle with U.S. or Canadian plates, or be carried in an authorized car to
use the Medical Lane from a hospital or doctor
Show identification as passport, driver license or U.S. permanent resident card
Present a document that endorses your medical consultation: doctor receipt,
medical prescription, medical service appointment card, etc. In case you just
get a prescription filled, you must present the drugstore receipt for a minimum
purchase of $400.00 pesos in medication
Only up to 5 people per vehicle will be able to enter to the Medical Lane
The Medical Lane Pass is valid for 15 days after the date it is given to the patient

CMO FUNCIONA
EL CARRIL MDICO?
El Carril o Lnea Mdica es un acceso a la garita internacional nicamente para
extranjeros que utilizaron servicios de salud en Mexicali tales como hospitales,
clnicas, doctores, farmacias o laboratorios que estn afiliados al Carril Mdico y
entregan a sus pacientes un pase para que puedan regresar a Estados Unidos a
travs de este carril que reduce el tiempo de espera para cruzar la frontera. Para
poder utilizar el Carril Mdico el paciente deber:
Presentar y entregar el Pase del Carril Mdico en la entrada del carril llenado
correctamente y sellado por COTUCO y el doctor, hospital, farmacia o
laboratorio donde se atendi o compr medicamento
Utilizar un vehculo con placas americanas o canadienses, o ir en un vehculo de
un hospital o doctor autorizado para cruzar por el Carril Mdico
Mostrar una identificacin: pasaporte, licencia de manejo o tarjeta de residente
permanente en EE.UU.
Mostrar un documento que avale que fue a consulta mdica como: recibo del
doctor, tarjeta de citas, prescripcin mdica o un recibo de farmacia por compra
mnima de $400.00 pesos en medicinas
Podrn cruzar hasta 5 personas en el automvil
El pase es vlido por 15 das a partir de su fecha de entrega al paciente

Mexicali has several cultural and recreational areas that offer to visitors different activities to do. From art exhibitions in galleries and
museums, parks, restaurants and entertainment, to extreme sports

RESTAURANTS
Mexicali is famous for its Chinese Food, which is part of the citys heritage given for the Chinese community established since its foundation.
There is more than 200 Chinese restaurants that are a clear example
of the great taste of Mexicalis Chinese food. In addition you can find
several restaurants of the new author or fussion cuisine, which is a mix
of flavors of Mexican, Asian, American and Baja Med cuisines using organic products harvested from Mexicali Valley.

SAN FELIPE

Where the desert meets the sea

To visit the Port of San Felipe is find a
unique place in the world, it is to feel the
warmth of the Sea of Cortez, home of
thousands of species that is the worlds
aquarium, as the French oceanographer
Jacques Custeau named, it is to feel the
greatness of the desert which is house
of the flora and fauna of the region. We
invite you to take a tour by San Felipe: a
Paradise of unmatched natural wealth.

It is mandatory to walk by the boardwalk and witnessing an unusual phenomenon in the wold the Bajamar
(low tide), which consists of the removal of the tide up to 450 ft from
the beach. This event just happen in 3
beaches in the world and you can witness in San Felipe.

Only 8 miles from San Felipe is an awesome place called the Valley of the Giants, which is named after the species
of giant cactus that are native of this
region. This is an ideal place for photographs due to the cactus offer an unforgettable scene by their height that is up
to 56 ft.
In Rancho Puertecitos you will find natural pools of sulphurous water, considered medical, relaxing and healthing,
which can only be seen when the tide
lows. This place is located at 46 miles
south of San Felipe.

In the nearby area known as Valle Chico are several cave paintings, which are
part of the remains of the first settlers
of this region.
Islote de Consag is an impressive rock located just 18 nautical miles west of San
Felipe. It is the home of several seabirds
as well as a unique area for those who
enjoy sport fishing.

Donde el desierto y el mar se encuentran

Visitar el Puerto de San Felipe es encontrarse con un espacio poco comn
en el mundo, es sentir la calidez del Mar
de Corts, hogar de miles de especies
que, segn el investigador francs Jacques Cousteau, lo hacen merecedor del
ttulo del acuario del mundo, es sentir
la grandeza del desierto que alberga
flora y fauna endmica de la regin.
Lo invitamos a realizar un recorrido por
San Felipe un paraso de una riqueza
natural inigualable.
Es obligatorio caminar por el malecn
de San Felipe y ser testigo de un fenmeno poco usual en el mundo, baja-

mar, el cual consiste en el alejamiento

de la marea hasta por 150 metros de
la playa; este suceso ocurre slo en 3
playas en el mundo y usted puede ser
testigo en San Felipe.
A solo 14 kilmetros de San Felipe se
encuentra un impresionante lugar llamado el Valle de los Gigantes, el cual
recibe su nombre por la especie de
cardones gigantes que son nativos de
esta regin. Este lugar es ideal para tomarse fotografas, ya que los cardones
ofrecen una panormica inolvidable, ya
que pueden llegar a medir
hasta 17 metros de altura.

En el Rancho Puertecitos podr encontrar pozas de aguas sulfurosas, consideradas como medicinales, relajantes
y curativas, las cuales solo pueden ser
apreciadascuando baja la marea. Este
lugar se ubica a 75 kilmetros al sur de
San Felipe. En la cercana zona de Valle
Chico se encuentran una serie de pinturas rupestres, las cuales son parte de los
vestigios de los primeros pobladores de
esta regin.
El Islote de Consag es una impresionante formacin rocosa que se encuentra a
solo 18 millas nuticas al oeste de San
Felipe, es el habitad de diversas aves
marinas. Tambin es un inigualable lugar para aquellos que gustan de la pesca
deportiva.
