Great news! The Russell Road Residents Association
(RRRA) is up and running! All leaseholders and
tenants of 1a 11c Russell Road now have a
recognised forum for representing their views and
concerns to the managing agents Enfield Council.
Following our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on
27 August, committee and its members were
nominated and a constitution was agreed. All of the
committee posts, Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and
Secretary are open to anyone who would like to put
their name in the hat for next years AGM. This year
the post holders elected are Ricardo Husbands
(Chair), Mike Markey (Vice Chair/Treasurer) and
Christine OMohony (Secretary). Its all done on a
voluntary basis and you get to influence the decisions
that affect you and this lovely corner of north
Enfield. If youd like more information please
contact the associations secretary, Christine
OMahony, visit our Facebook page or send us a
tweet via Twitter.
RRRA Needs You!
Your participation is
essential to the success of
the RRRA. We aim to
represent and promote the
interests of all residents and
will work for improvements
to the block, the local
environment and promote good property
management.
Our aim is to make our Residents Association a place
where everyone can feel welcome. We want people
from different backgrounds and experiences to be
part of our association. All residents are welcome to
any public meetings and events organised by the
association.

October 2015

Security
Over the past two months there have been two
attempted break-ins. The most recent occurred on 3
October where there was an attempt to force entry
to the doors at 5a to 7c. This highlights the need to
be extra vigilant and ensure that the entry doors are
kept closed at all times.
Join Our Neighbourhood Watch Scheme
The Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is a partnership
involving the police and local authority where people
come together to make their communities safer.
By setting up one of these schemes we can help to
protect ourselves and our properties by means of
improved security, greater vigilance and accurate
reporting of suspicious incidents to the police.
We have invited the Police
Community Support officer
(PCSO) Patricia Holmes, to
attend one of our meetings
to give us advice and
guidance on
Neighbourhood Watch and
security. Patricia has been
honoured for her services to community policing
and has a lot of experience in this area.

Repairs Update
Since forming the association we have made some
good progress in getting Enfield Council to carry out
some long standing essential repairs, most notably
the clearing and repair of the guttering.
As you know, there are a number of repairs which
have been outstanding for some time. RRRA is
seeking to build a partnership with the Council to
see how we move these issues forward in light of the
fact that the building is part of a major
refurbishment programme of works in the near
future.

OBITUARY
Sadly, we have to report the death of Charlie
Marjoram. Charlie was a one of the original
residents of the block, having lived here for over 60
years. We would like to extend our condolences to
Charlies family and friends. RRRA would like to
honour the memory of Charlie and will look at
options at future meetings suggestions welcome.

SPE CIA L THA NKS

Our special thanks go to Mike Markey (Vice Chair
and Treasurer) for his tireless work in scrutinising the
leaseholder charges for accuracy. Mike recently
spotted an error where a charge was made for
damage which was caused by a council service. The
error has now been rectified and refunded thanks to
Mike.
