Deficiencies of the following nature are generally observed in EHV/HV/MV electrical

installations.

The body of the electrical equipment or neutral point of a generator /transformer

is not earthed by connecting it to the earthing system by two separate and distinct
connections.

(2)

11 KV vacuum circuit breaker is not provided on every transformer having

capacity of 1000 KVA and above.

(3)

The transformers and equipments are installed in a congested area without leaving
free passage for the operators/workers.

(4)

Insulating mats for electrical purposes provided in front of panels are not found
conforming to IS :15652:2006.

(5)

Continuous earth wire (earthed at three points in every Km) is usually not
provided along the electricity line upto tail end.

(6)

Guarding of the line is not done at point of its crossing with roads/other lines.

(7)

Adequate vertical ground clearance, adequate horizontal clearance from buildings

and adequate clearance at crossing point with other lines is not maintained.

(8) 11KV cables/LT cables are laid in a haphazard manner instead of proper laying in
the trench/tray.
