Qualifications objective
This qualification:
Prepares learners to progress to a
qualification in the same subject area or
in another subject area (including MBAs,
with the required professional
experience)
Prepares learners for employment or
supports their current role in the
workplace
Gives opportunities for personal growth
and engagement in learning
This qualification contains a range of units which
are relevant to general management and to
business. The units are listed below and are all
available on the ABE website please pay
particular attention to the learning outcomes,
which you will be assessed against.

How to:
Reformulate and use practical, conceptual or
technological understanding to create ways
forward in contexts where there are many
interacting factors
Critically analyse, interpret and evaluate
complex information, concepts and theories to
produce modified conceptions
Understand the wider contexts in which the area
of study is located
Understand current developments in the area of
study
Understand different theoretical and
methodological perspectives and how they
affect the area of study
The three-hour written external examination in
Strategic Business Management and Planning is
held twice a year (usually the first week in June
and December). ABE manages the entire
examination process, from its external centres
around the world, to invigilation and marking.
All other units are assessed by a written
assignment, which is internally moderated by
either the candidates college or by Management
Approaches. In either case the assignment is
moderated by ABE.

of the ABE website.
Candidates who meet the requirements for the
qualification will be awarded a pass. The
qualification itself is not graded.
For each unit candidates will be marked out of
100 and will be graded as follows:

Merit
C
40% - 49%
Pass
D
30% - 39%
Marginal Fail
E
15% - 29%
Fail
F
0% - 14%
Unclassified
Candidates achieving a pass grade (C or above)
will be awarded the appropriate QCF credits for
the unit.
