Best Statistical Activity conducted by a government organization

All agencies of the government, local government units, academic institutions, state
universities and colleges,government-owned and controlled corporations with statistical
activities undertaken in October 2014 are welcome to send entries for this category. A
government organization can nominate its own activities or an activity undertaken by another
government entity, provided that the nominator can provide evidence and/or the nominee
can provide pertinent documentation sufficient for the evaluation of the 25 th NSM Board of
Judges.
Similarly, a private organization can also nominate government-conducted
statistical activities to the NSM Secretariat, provided that the nominator can provide
evidence and/or the nominee can provide pertinent documentation sufficient for the
evaluation of the 25th NSM Board of Judges.

Statistical forums, information dissemination activities and contests conducted in


October 2014 by proponent agencies/units of the government are covered in this category,
thus the following subcategories of this award:

1. Best Statistical Forum


A statistical forum can be in the form of workshops, symposia, trainings and
lectures on statistics.

2. Best Statistical Information Dissemination Activity


Information dissemination activities can be undertaken using various media. It
may be in the form of exhibits, web-based dissemination, database systems,
information caravan, publications, primers, flyers, and bulletins.

3. Best Statistical Contest


A statistical contest can either be in the form of statistical quiz, oratorical
contests, essay contests, poster-making contests where participants compete for an
award. The competition may be aired through radio or TV programs.

The criteria for judging for the entries in all the subcategories of the Best Statistical
Activity are as follows:
