middle when it is in line with your ear. Location may either be on your left, right, front, or back.
For example, you say upper right, lower back, middle front, and so on.
Once understood by the participant, the experimenter sounded the clicker in random
order until the clicker has already been sounded in all locations and positions. The Assistant 1
recorded the response on the record sheet, placing a check mark on correctly identified location
and position, and an X mark on those that were not. The 2nd assistant recorded the response of
every participant on the board, guiding the experimenter on the location and position where the
clicker still needs to be sounded. The same procedure was done for all the participants.
Results
The stimulus position with the highest frequency was the middle position (42.11%) while
the stimulus location with the highest frequency was the right location (45.61%). The combined
position and location with the highest frequency (53% of the participants) was the middle right.
The stimulus position and location with the lowest frequencies were the lower position (25%)
and the back location (24.56%). The lower back position and location also accumulated the
lowest frequency (5%).
Discussion
The middle position, the right location, and the middle right location and position were
the localities where the sound was most correctly identified to be from. While the lower position,
the back location, and the lower back location and position were the localities where the sound
was least identified to be from.
