2 Flexible Entry Boot

Flexible entry boots have no metal components exposed to the ground

environment, and firmly fasten and seal to the sump wall using galvanized steel
studs, nuts, and a plastic flange with compression ring. The boot provides a
watertight seal where pipe or conduit enters a containment sump, and allows
up-and-down, side-to-side, and fore-and-aft movement. It also allows angled pipe
entries of up to 12 off the centerline. Due to bolts being inside the plastic flange
there is no opportunity for water and fuel to get through. With the usage for double
walled pipes, you have the ability to seal the between of the inner and outer pipe.

Fire Prevention
One application is the use of nitrogen for fire prevention.
We all know the stories where mines explode/collapse and
mine workers are trapped inside the mine. The reason for
this explosion is often due to mine gasses piling up within
the confined space. When this large amount of mine gas
is ignighted a fire arises, causing a lot of damage. Nitrogen
is used to to prevent or extinquish mine fires, the reason
being is other options such as water damages the mine itself,
making it impossible to continue working within the mine.
