The Washington Post, Investigative Intern

As part of a Fulbright grant, I worked as a graduate researcher for Pulitzer Prize-winning


journalist John Sullivan and other members of the investigative unit
Contributed to two front-page investigations: Broken by the Bubble, part of Dashed
Dreams, a series looking at the plight of the black middle class, particularly in Marylands
Prince Georges County; Shaken Science A Disputed Diagnosis Imprisons Parents,
which explains how prosecutors build murder cases on disputed Shaken Baby Syndrome
diagnosis. I also published a story as a freelancer: A Pie in the Face for McDonalds

Investigative Reporting Workshop, Graduate Fellow

Lead researcher on project to survey and study nonprofit newsrooms around the world;
researcher for various senior editors; co-managed social media; wrote for the Workshops blog

experiences: I lived for six months in the U.K. to learn English; I attended a six-month

and events, such as the Un-Habitat World Urban Forum
