To Whom It May Concern:

I see from your email that your organization is seeking a Surety Bond, Construction Risk Management
professional who has superior accounting, financial analysis, and relationship management abilities with
complex projects. I possess those abilities, and have used sound business judgment, decisiveness well-
developed planning and analysis, while exercising a consistently high level communication skill, in
performing a variety of progressively responsible and challenging assignments. Please see my enclosed
resume.

I am accustomed to a fast-paced environment where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple jobs
simultaneously a requirement. I enjoy a challenge and work hard to attain my goals. Constant
communication with all stakeholders has strengthened my interpersonal skills. My insurance/surety
industry work has required me to analyze Federal, State, and Local government contracts, and subcontracts
as well as various private agreements, specifically looking at the reasonableness of basic contract terms,
contractual risk transfer mechanisms, and payment provisions. My surety work; considered an extension
of credit, requires me to analyze financial statements and uncompleted work on hand schedules for
consistency and accuracy. I’ve been required to investigate application details and recommend insurance
premiums, coverage and surety credit lines for my clients whose work programs have been as large as
$85 million per year. Thirty years of construction, and surety industry experience has given me a sincere
understanding for the necessity of mutually successful relationships.

To compliment my Insurance, Surety/Risk Management abilities I finished my Bachelors in Finance at

Eastern Washington University in early August 2005. During my recent attendance I achieved a 3.7 GPA
on all course work undertaken; which was inclusive of the entire Business Administration/Finance degree
course work program, save one 100 level Econ class I’d taken in the early 70’s. I have been continuing my
education here in Albuquerque, NM. working towards a Certified Risk Manager designation and an OSHA
30 card for the construction industry. I consider these accomplishments to be indicative of my abilities.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you and discuss my abilities and answer any questions you
may have. I have enclosed my updated resume, and references for your review.

Sincerely,

Bill
