ABSTRACT

Burnout results in a decrease in job performance because of

excessive work-related stress. This study assessed the presence of

burnout among physical therapists in hospital-based rehabilitation

centers in Cebu City and determined the different factors that could

cause burnout. There were 72 respondents for this study. Subjects

were asked to answer the Burnout Questionnaire and the results

were analyzed and shown in graphs and tables.

times that we have encountered. We give Him all the glory, praises,

and thanks.

We gratefully thank Mr. Romel Cabazor for his constructive

comments on this thesis. His advice and willingness to share his

bright thoughts with the researchers were very fruitful for shaping

up our ideas in research. We are much indebted to his advice,

supervision, and crucial contribution and for giving his precious time

to read this thesis and give his comments about it. We are grateful

in every possible way.

The researchers would also like to express their gratitude to

Mr. Juanito Lim III, their clinical coordinator, who showed us his

advice, supervision, and guidance from the very early stage of this

research. Above all and the most needed, he provided us

unflinching encouragement and support in various ways. His skills

and knowledge has made him a constant oasis of ideas and

passions in Physical Therapy, which exceptionally inspire and

enrich our growth as the students and researchers that we want to

be. We are indebted to him more than he knows.

It is our pleasure to acknowledge the contribution and advice

of Miss Glexy Pasion, our thesis adviser. We have benefited so

much from her outstanding skill and advice and her criticism has

triggered and nourished our intellectual maturity.

It is a pleasure to pay tribute to our panelists, Miss Chutchie

Vergara and Miss Shayne Andrino, who have offered their time in

the midst of all their activity and agreed to become members of the

panel. We are extraordinarily fortunate to have you both as our

panelists.

We would like to express collective and individual

acknowledgements to our co-researchers who are perpetually

helpful in every process of the research. We have spent so much

time with this research and it has been fulfilling to see our hard

work and efforts pay off.
