Steps to taking the Singapore QP


Assess your eligibility

STEP

Individuals with Accredited Degrees can enter directly into the Professional
Programme while individuals without an Accredited Degree will be required to
complete the Foundation Programme before embarking on the Professional
Programme.
The Singapore QP admits graduates of all disciplines.

Seek employment with an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO)

STEP

ATOs are organisations that are accredited by the Singapore Accountancy


Commission (SAC) to provide the Practical Experience component of the
Singapore QP. ATOs can be listed companies, public accounting entities,
banks, government ministries & statutory boards, charities, universities etc.
Over 100 organisations and firms have been accredited as ATOs.

Apply to be a Singapore QP Candidate

STEP

After you have signed a Training Agreement with an Accredited Training


Organisation, you can prepare your certificates and documents for entry into
the Singapore QP. The documents are to be sent to the Institute of Singapore
Chartered Accountants (ISCA), the administrator for the Singapore QP.

Accredited Training Organisations

Accredited Training Organisations (ATOs) play an integral role in the Singapore QP. They
provide training and development opportunities for Singapore QP Candidates to hone their
competences and gain valuable practical experience in a professional environment. In order to
hire, train and develop Singapore QP Candidates, organisations must first be accredited by the
Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC).

Practical Experience Requirements


Singapore QP Candidates are required to complete a minimum of 3 years (450
days) of Practical Experience and a minimum of 5 days (40 hours) of pro bono
work. The Practical Experience must be of a financial or business nature and
conducted under the guidance of an Approved Mentor.
In addition, Candidates will need to demonstrate that they are competent in
9 elements of generic competences and in 4 of the 15 elements of technical
competences. Both your time and achievement of the competences will be
recorded in your Record of Practical Experience (RPEC).
