PROJECT RATIONALE & OBJECTIVES :
As we all know, most of the learners in public schools in any places of our
country belongs to the impoverished group and there is a great possibility of
dropping out in school. The health and nutrition of these learners are the crucial
factor affecting their academic performance. Our government and some NGOs
have launched several program and projects for the greener Philippines to boast
tourism, uplift unemployment and educational status, fight climate change and
develop a sustainable nation.
For this reason, AES- TS Cruz would like to educate the learners the methods
of worthwhile production such as vegetable production and consumption which are
applicable to their homes and most importantly for household security.
Furthermore, this will also teach them:

Improve nutritional state

Learn where foods come from
Promote beautification
bolster proper waste segregation
Produce food
Stimulate creativity
Encourage leadership and service
Change unworthy home habits

These livelihood skills that the learners will acquire from the school can also be
applied and be replicated in their respective households. Procreate foods more
accessible to all schools that will certainly improve the health and nutritional status
of the learners through this sustainable greening program-the Greening AES-TS
Cruz Annex.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
One of the thrusts of the Department of Education is to strengthen and
intensify the implementation of Greening School Program (GSP) in all public
elementary and secondary schools to serve as a food basket and have a
ready source of vegetables for the school supplementary feeding program.
Inculcate among the learners the values of good health and nutrition,
industry, love of labor and caring for others.
The Green School Program will be implemented in Almanza Elementary
School TS- CRUZ ANNEX. Despite of the limited space, the school will make
use of vertical gardening in all railings of the school veranda.
In line with this program, a GSP task force will be the one to conduct
the advocacy, orientation and distribution of materials, monitoring and
evaluation. There must be a seminar to ensure that everything is in
accordance with the scope of this program and above all, for effective
implementation.
The school head, teachers, GPTA, Brgy. Council of Almanza II and GSP
Task Force must spearhead in the implementation of this program. The
source of funds of this program must come from the canteen funds and
donations from different agencies in the community.
