Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair

February 2016
Hosted by the Oberon Heritage and Collectors Club
Its time once again to let you know
whats planned for Highlands
Steam & Vintage Fair 2016.
Oberon Heritage & Collectors Club
committee and members endeavour to
repeat the successful features of the Fair
and improve others. Oberon Council has
again stepped up as a major sponsor for
2016 and we look forward to working with
them to produce another great Highlands
Steam & Vintage Fair.

Friday 12th February 2016

Our dedicated tractor team have been

hard at work again and you can expect
another fantastic trek showcasing the
best scenery in NSW (not that we biased
of course). Lunch will be on the hoof
again for 2016 to maximise the
opportunity to experience some really
remote and spectacular landscapes.
Entry forms are required and we would
appreciate the early return of forms
indicating your intentions. Dont forget
the free bus for partners and friends to
enjoy the experience too.
The Oberon Pioneers Classic Car and
Truck Road Run is a longer run this year
to the historic town of Millthorpe. This
will be under the guidance of Alan Laing

and will be planned in minute detail with

participants comfort and care for their
vehicles in mind. The lunch venue for
2016 is at the Railway Hotel. Seating
capacity is limited to 50, so get those
entry forms in early. Pay at point of sale.
Millthorpe has plenty to offer, view the

Saturday 13th February 2016

The features that have made the Fair such a
winner are showcased on Saturday:

The Grand Rally at 10am

Due to the increasing popularity of the
Saturday morning street parade, official
street closures will be in force in 2016.
OH & CC have extended invitations to
owners of heritage machinery to
participate in the parade. The parade, a
unique aspect of the Fair, could be
bigger than ever!
You just have to be there on the day!

Badges & DVDs

Rally badges and DVDs will be available
for sale at the Fair. Look for the OH &
CC marquee.

Live road steam traction engines

More road steam this year with Marshall
8nhp Andora from Tasmania being our
new star attraction along with the usual
suspects including Reverie our resident
Ruston Proctor and the Mt Victoria
Marshall will be trundling the streets of
Oberon

The tractor and farm machinery

displays will be bigger than ever for
2016. Be prepared for some really
outstanding machinery on display.

Lithgow Living History will again be

out in force, with new displays and
activities. They will be displaying and
demonstrating historic firearms through
our history from the 1800's to the
1950's. Military and civilian reenactments will be happening and
photo opportunities will abound.
Oberon Tarana Heritage Railway will
be open to view the Station building, rail
heritage displays and rolling stock shed.
Bathurst Miniature Rail group will be
operating a small gauge steam train
within OTHR precinct.
OTHR are a volunteer organisation with
big goals eventually to resurrect the
rail line to Tarana. Come & talk to
these train enthusiasts about their
project and maybe, get involved.
Bows and Arrows
Bathurst Archery will be demonstrating
the finer art of archery and you too can
let fly an arrow or two!
