In the World, Not of the World

Scripture:
Jesus prayed, They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make
them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. John 17:1617
We cannot expect non-believers to have godly moral standards and desire to
please God. We can, and should, expect Christians to act differently than the
culture that they live inas different as night and day.

In the World, Not of the World Part 2

Scripture:
(Jesus praying) My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but
that you protect them from the evil one.As you sent me into the world, I
have sent them into the world. John 17:15,18
How can we make a difference in our culture today? Jesus says He is sending
us into the world, as He himself was sent. What are we being sent to do?
What was Jesus mission?

In the World, Not of the World Part 3

Scripture:
I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not
of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take
them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. John
17:14-15
Do you struggle to live for God in an ungodly culture? What does God want
you to do when the world around you refuses to follow Gods laws? Jesus tells
us to Love: love God and love others as yourself. (Matthew 22:36-38) How do
you love others?

Are You a Good Friend?

Scripture:
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If
one person falls, the other can reach out and help. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a
(NLT)
Can you imagine going through trials without support from friends or family?
It is easier to navigate hardship when you have help from Christian brothers
and sisters. Jesus told His followers to do to others as you would like them
to do to you (Luke 6:31). Does this describe you?

Maybe its time for change

What do people see in you?
Scripture: People who dont believe are living all around you. They may
say that you are doing wrong. So live such good lives that they will see the
good you do, and they will give glory toGod on the day he comes. 1 Peter
2:12
Are you in a situation in which youre not able to share your faith?
Maybe youll get in trouble because your work wont allow it. Or perhaps you
could even be risking your life. God calls us to live in a way that honors Him
so that even without using words others will see love and compassion in you,
and eventually have a desire to honor God, too. How can this look in
your life? If you need help with that answer, just write back. Were here to
help.
What were you expecting?

Scripture: I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the
world. John 16:3
Maybe you werent expecting troubles and hardship as a follower of Jesus...
Jesus tells us to expect it; He says you will have troubles, not if you have
troubles. Jesus promise is victory over the things of this world, not happiness
in them. When we focus on Jesus and heaven, we see that our troubles here
are only temporary. They cant compare to the wonderful things God has
ready for us in heaven. Write back to get prayer over your troubles.
What is better than life?
Scripture: "Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts
for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no
water." - Psalm 63:1
How is your relationship with Jesus today?
Being far from the Lord is like being stuck in a dry land, desperately thirsty
with no water to give you life. And the Bible says that His love is better
than life! So seek the Lord and ask Him to nourish you and pour His love on
you. If you're looking for some guidance and support, write back and let
someone encourage you today.
Are You Ready to Share the Gospel?
Scripture:

For God so loved the World that He gave His only Son, that
whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John
3:16

What are the most important truths that will help someone have
faith in Jesus? Based on John 3:16 there are 4 simple ideas that sum
up the gospel:

1. Love

For God so loved the World Let people know God loves them and
wants to have a relationship with them! God proved His love for us
in the while we were still sinners Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8).

2. Sin
Sin separates us from a loving, perfect God. We have rebelled
against Him and refused to follow Him. By going our own way, we
have missed the perfect plan God had for us. All have sinned and
fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) So what is the
solution so we will not perish, but have eternal life? (John 3:16)

3. Jesus
He gave his only Son Salvation is a gift, not something you have
to earn. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:23)

4. Believe
Whoever believes in Him Like any gift, you must choose to
accept it. AGREE that Jesus is the only Son of God and ACCEPT that
he paid for YOUR sins on the cross and rose again to give you life.
Invite people to pray with you to accept Jesus. To all who believed
him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God
(John 1:12)

Focus on Jesus
Be careful not to be distracted by difficult questions or subjects that
cause disagreement. You dont need to know ALL the answers; you
only need to know that Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and
the Life. No one comes to the Father but through me. (John 14:6).

Be Ready
If someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to
explain it. (1 Peter 3:15b). Memorize these 4 simple truths and

scriptures that go with them. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit for
wisdom and power. Remember it is the Holy Spirit who helps people
accept Christ; we are just pointing the way.

Scripture: 28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will
give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle
and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is
easy and my burden is light. - Matthew 11:28-30
Do you ever feel guilty for taking time to rest instead of getting everything
done on your to-do list?
When youre tempted to choose busyness over rest, remember
that God wants to give you rest. He is gentle and humble. Hes not a drill
sergeant. When you rest, reflect on Gods love, power and faithfulness. In
Psalm 46:10 He even says to Be still and know that I am God. It may seem
impossible to be still...reply to this message and talk to someone about
ways it can be possible in your life.
