A Managers Guide to Project Management


Duration: 5 Days (Monday through Friday)
Timing: 9AM to 5PM Daily

This dynamic 40 hour intensive course will provide a practical review of the 13 modules of the Project Management Body Of
Knowledge (PMBOK). The course is delivered by the most seasoned Project Management Professional (PMP) Master
Trainer, experienced project managers and a senior PMI member who will be providing tips and guidance on how to prepare
and increase your chances of passing the PMP exam.

Objective of this training is to introduce the audience to the internationally accepted and adopted standard for Project
Management and to help them prepare for Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, using state-of-the-art and
unique approaches, which will not only serve to teach new PM tools and techniques, but will also show how general project
management practices can be effectively translated into real-life environment. This training will provide an understanding of:

The know how to apply different project planning methodologies depending on Project Categories, Priorities and
Resource Organization.


The know how to develop a dynamic project Model that will be used to continuously optimize your business /
product application development process.


The ability to involve the end user (customer) in your project planning and management life cycle, to manage
project priorities and control scope changes.


The knowledge of how to structure the project data at the planning stage, to communicate effectively critical
information at the right level of detail.


The skill to identify, involve, engage and manage the needs and expectations of all project stakeholders.

What will you Learn?

This course introduces and explains the project management framework, definitions, concepts, processes, and knowledge
areas presented in PMIs "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK), Fifth Edition. PMP
candidates are provided a comprehensive understanding of the PMBOK, including suggested reference materials to
strengthen their PM skills and eradicate weaknesses. The complete learning experience is achieved through lectures,
discussions, exercises, and sample examinations.

Management By Projects--Learn how to revolutionize your system of management by evolving into a Project
Based Organization employing projectized structures and managing by projects.


Management by Exception--Learn how not to micro-manage and rather manage by exception, only when
required for decision-making, approvals and evaluations.


Project Management Methodology--Learn a variety of project management methods and methodologies, their
potential impact on your organization structures, systems and procedures as they relate to increasing your
competitiveness in the market place.


Project Risk Evaluation & Management--Learn how to identify the different types of Risk Factors and evaluate
their impact utilizing a dynamic project model.


Project Resource Management--Learn how to design and utilize a corporate resource capacity management


Project Progress & Variance Analysis--Learn how to use Baselines for project plans to trouble shoot projects
and to conduct variance analysis and exception reporting formats for informative decision making processes.

Trainers Profile

Mr. Suhail Iqbal is the CEO of SysComp International (Pvt.) Ltd. who pioneered Project Management and PMP Trainings in
Pakistan, training over 16,000 individuals over a decade and a half. A Civil Engineer by profession, served for 20 years in
Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers, meanwhile doing his Masters and MPhil in Computer Science, Masters in English
Literature and two MBAs, One in MIS and other in General Management. He was responsible for setting up Mega Projects
like Digital Mapping and Geographic information System, Muzzafargarh Thermal Power Station, and was the architect of
most prestigious NADRA organization and its projects.
Since 2001, after being voluntarily retired from Pakistan Army have setup 1st chapter of PMI in Pakistan and sponsored it as
1st President, Mentored over 25 PMI Chapter Presidents as Regional Mentor for Asia, was awarded scholarship for PMI
Leadership Institute Masters Class in 2005 and later awarded Gary Christle Award for his PhD Research. Remained on PMI
Leadership Institute Advisory Group and Nominating Committee for PMI Board of Directors.
Have the honor to be the 2nd PMP from Pakistan, 1st PgMP from Pakistan and holds the honor to be the only one from
Pakistan to hold all the PMI certifications to include PfMP, PgMP, PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP and CAPM. Additionally
remained Chairman of Asia Pacific Federation of Project Managers, and Project Management Association of Pakistan,
Regional Director of Professional Risk Managers International Association PRMIA Pakistan, and was the 1st PRINCE2
Practitioner in Pakistan. Currently he is the Member of Endorsing Committee for BOD of PRMIA International, Vice Chair of
MENSA Pakistan (hi-IQ Society), Director-At-Large of PMI Islamabad Chapter, and have served as founding member and
President of Islamabad ToastMasters Club.
He has contributed as core team member to most of the PMI Standards, PMBOK 3rd 4th and 5th Editions, OPM3 2nd and
3rd Editions, Standards for Program and Portfolio Management 1st, 2nd and 3rd Editions and many more. Authored several
papers and articles in International and National Journals, Conferences and Congresses, and is currently defending his PhD
Research at SKEMA Business School, Lille, France.
