Transportation
Airport to hotel on arrival & hotel to airport on departure in Islamabad.

One-way air fare between Skardu-Islamabad (flights are subject to weather
conditions in case of flight cancellation surface transfer to Islamabad).

from Askoli/Hushe to Islamabad.
Note: Cancellation of flight two or three days before actual departure can affect reservation. That

Note: If rooms in hotels mentioned above are not available, the accommodation in the hotels with
equal standard will be provided.

Transportation for briefing, debriefing and sightseeing.

GENERAL SERVICES

Low Altitude Porters (LAPs)


Low altitude porters to carry expedition food, camping equipment and group
luggage.
A free allowance of 3 porters per climber will be provided to carry personal gear,
climbing equipment and high altitude food while going from the end of jeep road to
the base camp and 2 porters per climber from the base camp to the end of trek.

The porter cost is inclusive of their wages, food, equipment, kerosene oil, tarpaulin, cooking
stove and insurance.

Base Camp Representatives


ATP has representatives at the base camps of major peaks (K-2, Broad Peak & Gasherbrum)
to look after expeditions with satellite phone facilities. In case of any issue or urgent
requirements you just need to talk to our representative. We also have a camp at Concordia
during season. If you need porters on urgent basis our representative at Concordia can
make necessary arrangements.
Hot Water: You will have hot water once a week for shower and washing.

NOTE

All expedition members will go and come back in one group. If any/some members split
from the group, their extra expenses including transportation and single room supplement

Any extra cost due to road blocks or any other unforeseen reason will be charged
additionally (That means any extra transportation cost or hotel accommodation will be
charged separately).

SIGNATURE

1. La cascada de hielo
Desde el campo base hasta el campo I es preciso superar la cascada de hielo del glaciar meridional de los
Gasherbrum, que no llega a presentar la peligrosidad o la dificultad de la cascada del Khumbu en la vertiente
meridional del Everest. An as, se requiere equipamiento, sealizacin y una labor de mantenimiento de la ruta por
parte de las expediciones presentes en la montaa, dada la existencia de grietas, resaltes, seracs, lagunas
glaciares, avalanchas en las laderas circundantes y otros obstculos y alteraciones del terreno producidas por el
propio movimiento del glaciar. El campo I se instala a unos 5.950 m de altura, en el plat superior y en las
proximidades de la continuacin de la ruta (espoln Moravec), y se requieren entre siete y ocho horas de actividad
desde el campo base para alcanzarlo, aunque una vez realizada una correcta aclimatacin, se puede reducir
bastante este tiempo.

2. El espolon Moravec
Se trata de una lnea bien definida de nieve con una fuerte pendiente del glaciar a su derecha y cortes de nieve y
roca a su izquierda. La ruta alterna entre tramos de nieve y arista buscando el terreno ms fcil y salvando algunos
resaltes. La pendiente es bastante fuerte y suele superar los 60 de inclinacin, de forma que se gana altura
rpidamente sobre todo entre los campos I y II, donde se encuentran los tramos ms expuestos. El campo II se
instala a 6.450 m en un rellano de la propia arista bastante resguardado, mientras que el campo III se suele montar
sobre el mismo espoln a 7.050 m de altura. Se acostumbra a instalar cuerdas fijas a lo largo de todo el espoln no
slo para facilitar la subida sino sobre todo para asegurar un descenso rpido en caso de mal tiempo. Una vez
realizada la aclimatacin y con las cuerdas fijas instaladas, el tiempo que puede invertirse entre cada uno de los
campos oscila entre 3 y 4 horas.

3. La cumbre
Desde el campo III es preciso continuar por la arista hasta los 7.400 m aproximadamente, bajo la perfecta pirmide
cimera. En ocasiones, se instala un campo IV en este punto, lo que puede facilitar en muchos casos un descenso
seguro. Desde este punto, una larga travesa en diagonal por suaves pendientes de nieve bajo la pirmide cimera
conduce a la arista este, a un altura de 7.750 m de altura sobre el nivel del mar; desde donde, por una fuerte
pendiente aunque sin dificultades especiales salvo una banda rocosa en los 50 ltimos metros, se alcanza la
cumbre del Gasherbrum II.
