The legendary Garnet Rogers returns in March

The Barrie Folk Society, is excited to announce the return Hailed by the Boston Globe as a “charismatic performer and
of Garnet Rogers to Barrie. Rogers, a legendary musician in singer,” Garnet is a man with a powerful physical presence –
the Canadian music scene will be playing a special show at close to six-and-a-half feet tall – with a voice to match. His music,
the Downtown Community Theatre on Mar. 26. like the man himself, is literate, passionate, highly sensitive, and
deeply purposeful.

An optimist at heart, Garnet sings extraordinary songs about

people who are not obvious heroes and of the small victories
of the everyday. As memorable as his songs, his over-the-top
humour and lightning-quick wit moves his audience from tears
to laughter and back again.

Garnet’s last show in Barrie sold-out, so make sure you purchase

your tickets early. Advance tickets can be purchased from the
Barrie Music Centre (411 Huronia Rd. , Barrie); cash sales only.
The Barrie Music Centre is open Mon-Thurs, 12 to 9pm. Advance
tickets are also available online from www.ticketbreak.com or
by calling 705.722.4TIX (705.722.4849); toll free: 1.866.9.GET.TIX
(1.866.943.8849). Phone orders are only available up to one
week before show date. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets will
go on sale Jan. 15.

Garnet is a strong advocate of local food banks, so audience

members are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the
show

Friday, February 26 / 8pm – Soul Surfers

Douglas John Cameron, Adam Crossley and Daniel Roth are the triple threat talents behind SOUL
SURFERS. Toronto-based Douglas Cameron began writing songs at nine years of age. In 1985, he
garnered a Juno nomination for “Mona With the Children” and, during the 90s, recorded three albums
for children. Adam Crossley is an acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer, and inspires comparisons
to Coldplay, Sting and Ryan Adams with his melodic voice and thoughtful lyrics. Daniel Roth, also
an accomplished musician from a young age is known for the lush tones and driving melodies which
were at the heart of his first band – Harpoon Dodger’s – first release in 2005.
