Only properly qualified personnel should be admitted to install and maintain the
equipment.
Personnel should be trained in first aid in case of need and have access to necessary
materials for this purpose.
The condition of the cables and connectors of the equipment must be checked
periodically.
Blown fuses must be replaced by intact fuses with the same parameters.
There are no parts within the device that are to be maintained by the user.
Device covers should not be removed because there is a risk of electric shock.
Always disconnect the system from the mains before connecting or disconnecting a
cable.
Even when the system is completely switched off, there might be components that
have accumulated electric charges thus causing a hazard.
-3 -
Switch off wiring of a device of the system prior to opening the device for whatever
reason.
The system must be transported solely in an upright position on a flat and stable
surface. The user must check that the equipment is not damaged during
transportation.
Use only proper tools for assembly, disassembly and maintenance of the equipment.
Before switching on the equipment is to be checked whether all cables are connected
properly and secure enough and make sure that there are no loose ends and
damaged cables, couplers or links.
The polarity of the batteries should be checked and comply during the connection.
The use of additional fans for cooling the operating system is not recommended, but
can be used depending on the specific conditions and at the discretion of the user.

2. System description
2.1 General description
1. EXERON is effectively combining energy supplied by various sources such as solar, wind
and diesel generators or from the public utilities network. Unused energy is stored in
batteries. EXERON provides power independence and significant cost savings and energy
flow optimization for the use of primarily renewable energy.
2. The electricity power supply system EXERON consists of PDU - Power Distribution Unit
with automatic circuit breakers, switches, protections and control units, MCU Monitoring
and Control Unit, PV MPPT charger controllers, controllers (AC-DC rectifiers) for charging
from the utility network (Grid) or diesel generator (GenSet) and inverter modules (Fig. 1.1).

6. System startup
6.1 System check and preparation
The following examinations have to be done before the initial startup of the system:
1. All connections have to be rechecked.
2. Make sure that the polarity of the batterys connection is strictly observed.
3. All switches and circuit breakers have to be in a switched off position.
4. The reliability of the grounding has to be rechecked.
It is highly recommended only appropriate tools for tightening all fuses and terminals to be used.
Otherwise non-observation can lead to lose of power and even system damage.

Turn on each inverter module by switching on the BATTERY circuit breaker (MCB, marked
with red rectangle) and the switch (turn on in position 1) that is mounted on the front
panel (Fig. 2.9, marked with green rectangle). Immediately after turning them on an OFF
LED indicator will light up and the inverter module will start its test. After the finalization of
the test the OFF LED indicator will switch off and the inverter module starts operating.
Fig. 2.9
7. If the battery voltage is too low the inverter modules might not turn on. In this
situation they can be forcedly started by long-pressing the Start button located on
the left side of the MCU`s panel.
Fig. 2.10
8. The load is powered by switching on the output circuit breaker on each inverter
module (Fig. 2.11, marked with blue rectangle) and the three output circuit breakers
located in the main PDU (Fig. 2.8, marked with blue rectangle).

7. Inverter
Model I is a rack-mount inverter intended to be built into a 19" construction. The inverter
provides an uninterruptible power supply for loads operating at sinusoidal AC, generated
from direct current power sources.
The inverter module provides galvanic isolation between the output and the battery. The
presence of galvanic isolation guarantees the highest protection level for the load from

Each inverter module has an indicator that digitally displays the following values listed
below:

The different available display indication regimes can be switched by pressing the MODE
button (Fig. 2.12, marked with red circle). The mode`s corresponding LED lights up.

8. Charging system
The charge controllers are with compact dimensions, a height of 1U, and with exceptionally
high power density coefficient per unit volume. The easy operation, the suitability for fast
scheduled maintenance and excellent maintainability in combination with their high
reliability are a guarantee for saving time, costs, resources and extremely valuable time.
Each charge controller has a highly reliable fail-safe structure and is constructed based on
multiple fault-tolerant solutions. Hot Plug and Hot Swap technology is integrated.
Each controller can be started after it is carefully slid in its slot (the plates must be out
during sliding in) and the two connecting plates located on both sides of the front panel are
pushed in. The left plate on each charge controller is an electronic switch.
Auto diagnostics procedure will follow immediately after the charge controller has been
started. After the necessary start-up tests are finished the first two LED diodes on the front
panel will light up.

9. Instructions for work with The Monitoring and Control Unit (MCU)
The Monitoring and Control Unit MCU. The MCU displays the system current data on its
LCD display (1). Three buttons (2,3) are used for MCU control. Light Emitting Diodes (4)
indicate system`s condition.
The MCU front panel consists of:
LCD display for system data monitoring
Settings Mode Button for entering the settings menu and confirming set
parameter values
Up / Down buttons for navigating through the menus and setting up and down
parameter values in settings mode.

The main menu of the MCU consists of 16 menu points. By pushing the UP button
once the next menu point is shown. Pushing the DOWN button once displays the
previews menu point. The digit in the upper right corner of the display indicates the
number of the menu point.
In the menu points 1 to 7 certain system parameters can be viewed. They are detailed in
the Main menu points subchapter. The menu points 9,10,11,12 and 15 contain
submenus, which can be entered by holding the SETTINGS button longer than 5 seconds.
Under menu point 15 System Accuracy the system measurement parameters can be
calibrated. This is usually done only once in the manufacturing process.

The criteria for switching from Boost to Float is the battery`s charging current limit (Ibsw
F2B) which you can pre-set through Menu 11. If the system crosses this limit, additional
timer (ADD TIMER) will be turned on. Its aim is to ensure full charge of the battery while the
system keeps being in Boost mode simultaneously. A timer that counts the amount of time
for which the system has been in Boost mode has been added (TMR BST MAX). Its aim is to
prevent a long stay of the battery under high charging voltage. When one of the timers runs
out, the system will automatically switch back to Float regime.

Another option is Boost mode. In this mode the battery charging current limit will be
the maximum charging battery current (Ibch Max) that has been pre-set. However for safety
reasons a timer will be automatically started here as well (TMR BST MAX). Its purpose is to
count the time in a Boost mode. After it runs out the system will automatically switch back
