Brotherhood(unity) in Islam and its meaning

(The way to Islam series)
Brotherhood(Unity) in Islam and its meaning
All praise belongs only to Allah swt,He is the Al Mighty and Al Merciful, and we seek His mercy and
forgivness, and His last messenger is Muhammad saws.

(Introduction)
With all respect and humbleness...this may sound harsh to some, but the truth must be
revealed, and when you'll read this completely you'll inshallah give more effort to be the true pious
Muslim that Allah swt wants you to be.I pray to Allah swt that He guides us to the straight path of
real Islam and that he purifies us always from evil ameen.I first talk about the false "Muslims" than
the true Muslims, and than inshallah you'll understand how we should live as one
Ummah(universal brotherhood).
Oh Muslims...how many times did you called another Muslim/Muslimah bro or sis? How many
times do you hear about how great Muslims are? How many times have you heard a lecture or
read a book about unity and brotherhood in Islam? The final question is how much did you
understood the meaning of all that?
Unfortunately in our time most of the "Ummah" have no clue about the real meaning of unity and
brotherhood in Islam. This is because they didn't understood the meaning of Islam and the
meaning of being a Muslim.Yes there are among these "Muslims" who did read some hadiths and
verses from the Quran, but you don't see them really practicing what they read a lot.You may find
one who says bro or sis to another Muslim/Muslimah but they still treat each other as far
strangers(out of fear, jalousy or pride).Only cause they have lack of understanding about
Islam. You have to understand what a true Muslim is in order to understand how to practice pure
Islam with pure heart/soul.The first step is to erase completely the "pride" that you have, purify
your intentions first.I'm going to tell you what's going on with our "Ummah" and than give you
another step closer to knowing the real meaning of brotherhood.
I'm telling you this because the reality among Muslims(especially those who are "born" Muslims)
is that they don't use a lot of their brain to think and understand Islam really in order to practice it
as they should.A lot of you want to hear how great Muslims are but I'm asking you look at the
situation of the "Ummah" today, are "Muslims" really that great? And all of us are proud of being
1.6 billion Muslims in the world, also that Islam is the second largest religion in the world but still
not much of all that number of Muslims are really following true Islam. Many among us are astray
and have no Idea what really Islam is,than how great is our Ummah?
(FALSE "MUSLIMS")
You see them thinking and living as the normal non Muslim lives and you even see them doing
very evil things as the evil kufars do(like illegal sex, getting
drunk, fighting, killing, insulting, arrogance, treatin g their parents and other people badly, following
illogical traditions e.t.c.) yet they dare to call themself Muslims, how come than this is our
Ummah?
Allah says in the Quran:
"And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allh (i.e. this Qur'n), and be not divided among
yourselves[], and remember Allh's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He
joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islmic Faith), and you
were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allh makes His Ayt (proofs,
evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided.(Surah
3:103)
"And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come
to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment."(Surah 3:105)
But we see that "Muslims" are divided among themselfs into groups(sunni vs shia) and different
countries, each one is stubborn and has his own "pride" and traditions.Stubborn and proud to

accept their mistakes when they do them, and judging innocent people, acting arrogantly.Do they
remember that Muhammad saws forbid all this cause Allah swt doesn't like those people with
stubborn pride?
""No one who has an atom's weight of pride in his heart will enter the Garden."(hadith)
"...Allah does not love people who gloat.'" (Surah 28:76)
One maybe loves his parents but hates the rest of his family(or vice versa) and neighbors or
anyone from the Ummah,he is good in the mosque but as soon as he gets out he starts to
backbite and mock and insult other people(Muslims and non Muslims).
Allah swt and His messengers teach us to be better than that do they not understand?
"And insult not those whom they (disbelievers) worship besides Allh, lest they insult Allh
wrongfully without knowledge..."(Surah 6:108)
We see many "Muslims" in "Islamic"countries that they make war with each other.Killing each
other for stupid reasons.Stubborn with each other. One hates another, one is more "proud" than
the other and peace and understanding to them means lost of a war and pride.Even if Allah swt
says
"O you who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves unjustly except it be a trade
amongst you, by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allh is
Most Merciful to you."
(Surah 04:29).
We see among the "Ummah" how "Muslim" guys flirt with girls that wear hijab(even niqab)calling
them sexy and other things as the kufars say,and even girls with hijab they flirt with these guys
to.When Allah swt said to us to lower our gaze in the best possible way
"Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their
private parts (from illegal sexual acts) (Surah 24:30)
and the hijab is there to help the women and men to lower their gaze but how much did these
"Muslims" understood the meaning of that?
We see husbands hitting their wifes, treating them harshly not allowing them anything,or wifes
"controling" their husbands, insulting them, and making their husband live hell on earth?
Did they understood that the Muslim men should not treat women bad(Surah 04:19),that women
have similar rights over men as men have over women(Surah 2:226),
and that men and women are created to live in peace and love with each other(Surah 2:187,30:21)?
This is our Ummah? Is this how we understood what really Islam is and what a true Muslim is?
Or they follow one thing cause mama and papa follows it(like wearing hijabs or praying at the
mosque) but have no idea about the meaning of what they're following?
You think no eating pork and no drinking alcohol is sufficent for you to be a Muslim?Ofcourse
not!
How than brothers and sisters are we Muslims? How great are we as Muslims than?
Not much great after all than...
Who are these people among the"Ummah"?
Those are the exact hypocrites(men and women), ignorants that Allah swt speaks about in the
Quran and that Muhammad saws warned us about:
"So woe to the worshipers Who are neglectful Of their Prayers, Those who (want but) To be seen
(of men), But refuse (to supply) (Even) neighbourly needs. (Surah107:4-7)"
"The bedouins say: "We believe." Say: "You believe not but you only say, 'We have surrendered
(in Islm),' for Faith has not yet entered your hearts..."(Surah 49:14)

"The Hypocrites - they think they are over-reaching God, but He will over-reach them: When they
stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold God
in remembrance; (Surah 4:142)
"... What they are doing [their worship] is purposeless." (Surah 07:139)
"The signs of the hypocrite are three: when he speaks he lies, when he promises he breaks his
promise and when he is entrusted he betrays the trust." (Bukhari and Muslim)
The reward for these kind of hypocrites among the Ummah is hell and it's most just when you'll
understand thet huge sins that they do:
"The Hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire: no helper wilt thou find for them;(Surah
04:145)" "
Give glad tidings to the hypocrites of a grievous punishment." (Surah 4:138)
They use the word Muslim in order to hide their true evil identity,in reality they are even worst than
a evil non Muslim cause Islam gives them the true guidance and yet they are only using it as a
mask(meaning they are not submiting to God truly, whether they are aware of it or not).
I know that this sounds harsh but it is the truth, and the reward for this sad truth is hell.So we all
should wake up!Should we continue doing things arrogantly and blindly?Should we continue do
the opposite of what Islam is teaching us? No!! This has to stop, and Muslims should wake
up,start using their brain and practice Islam with a pure heart!! Islam gives the guidance,Allah swt
shows you the way, will you than not understand?
Allah swt warns us all and calls us to unite in peace, to ask him for guidance first
"And fear Allh. Verily, Allh is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful.O
mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes,
that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allh is that (believer)
who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqn (pious believers - see V.2:2). Verily, Allh is AllKnowing, All-Aware"(Surah 49:12-13).
(TRUE MUSLIMS"
Who are the pious believers?Allah answers
"Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islm), enjoining Al-Ma'rf
(i.e. Islmic Monotheism and all that Islm orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism
and disbelief and all that Islm has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful.(Surah 3:104).
Thos who enjoy what's good/right and who stay away from evil/wrong.
So this means a believer is someone who truly understood the meaning of Islam and the meaning
of a Muslim in details. One who is able to think and understand the Quran and Sunnah(Islam). One
who than after using wisdom and logic loves and practices Islam as it should be practiced with a
great pure heart.Who is able to know logically what's right and wrong.Than the good deeds are
counted according to the pure intentions.Allah swt than rewards the Muslim with whatever he/she
wishes for and even much more.Islam is not something that you follow things blindly.Islam is a
pure way of life and teachings that are followed with logical wisdom and pure heart. And once this
is understood than unity and brotherhood in Islam will be understood to.
Allah swt says in the Quran about brotherhood and commands us to act as brothers and sisters
"The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islmic religion). So make reconciliation between
your brothers, and fear Allh, that you may receive mercy. "(Surah 49:10)
That's it,act as true brothers and sisters with each other and you won't be astray.Love and respect
each other as brothers and sisters

Muhammad saws said the real Muslims must love each other as real brothers and sisters to.
"You will not enter Paradise until you have faith, and you will not have faith until you love each
other..."(hadith)
Brotherhood is to live in peace and understanding with one another. If one disagrees with another
than they should follow the best meaning of what is discussed. They must not argue. They must
forgive and have mercy always for one another.Brother/Sister love should grow constantly. For
this reason we must not fight nor hate each other(especially not kill),even if that happens to
some(since we are weak humans)than hate should not be more than 3 days, cause brothers and
sisters don't hate each other.A real Muslim will wish for his bro/sis in Islam what he wishes for
himself and help him/her to live in peace. One must not take advantage of another and should
respect his/her rights.A brother can not flirt with a sister nor vice versa.Lower your gaze when you
talk to each other(that's also why hijab is there for women and beard for men).Do help each other
and do be happy together.Learn from one another,do admit your mistakes when you do them
accidenty and than fix them.Purify yourselfs with love and understanding for each other.
Do understand that if you don't act like this than there'll be a total mess(which you can see
clearely in our time that's exactly what's happening among the Ummah).Wish for each other good
as you wish for yourself.Be open with each other but also know when to put a limit cause Allah
swt doesn't love those who are extremist.Try as much as you can to be a humble/modest
Muslim/Muslimah.
Allah wants us to live together in peace, love and tranqility, not backbiting and hating one another
for stupid or no reasons.Even with non Muslims we should live in peace and respect.Cause a
Muslim doesn't hate nor judges injustly.A Muslims helps any innocent person and loves his
bro/sis for the sake of Allah swt.Let us be the wonderful Ummah that Allah swt wishes for us to
be.Let's be truly the pure one UMMAH!!
Muhammad saws said :
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab
has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any
superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to
every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood.
A muslim is like a real brother to another and this is why he(saws) also said ""None of you will
have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself." (Sahih Al-Bukhari
Volume 1, Book 2, Number 12) .
"You will not enter Paradise until you have faith, and you will not have faith until you love each
other.
Shall I direct you to something which if you fulfill you will love one another? Spread peace among
yourselves."(It was reported by Muslim)
"A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. He does not oppress him, nor does he leave him at
the mercy of others." (Sahih Muslim Book 032, Number 6219)
"Your smile in the face of your brothers is an act of charity."(hadith)
Even a smile is a charity and charity is worship and Allah swt is pleased with one when he does
things for the sake of Allah swt.Allah swt says and His messenger saws that we should greet each
other with "salaam aleykum"(peace of Allah be with you),even the greeting should be with peace
so we should not voilate peace.
So let us change and start uniting for the sake of Allah swt.Let us live in peace and love.Let us
start practicing real Islam with pure heart and wisdom/logic.Let us really be Muslims !!

Allah says :
The Muminoon are but a single Brotherhood. (The Holy Quran, 49:10)
For this We sent a Messenger to you from among you to recite Our Signs to you and purify you
and teach you the Book and Wisdom and teach you things you did not know before. (Surat
02:151)
Say: "Will you inform Allh of your religion While Allh knows all that is in the heavens and all that
is in the earth, and Allh is All-Aware of everything. They regard as favour to you (O Muhammad
SAW) that they have embraced Islm. Say: "Count not your Islm as a favour to me. Nay, but Allh
has conferred a favour upon you, that He has guided you to the Faith, if you indeed are true.
Verily, Allh knows the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allh is the All-Seer of what you
do.(Surah 49:16-18)
And follow what is revealed to you and be patient till Allah should give judgment, and He is the
best of the judges. (Surah 10.109)
And follow what is revealed to you from your Lord; surely Allah is Aware of what you do
(Surah 33.002)
In the name of God, the infinitely Compassionate and Merciful.
Praise be to God, Lord of all the worlds.
The Compassionate, the Merciful. Ruler on the Day of Reckoning.
You alone do we worship, and You alone do we ask for help.
Guide us on the straight path,
the path of those who have received your grace;
not the path of those who have brought down wrath, nor of those who wander astray.
Amen.(Surah Al Fatiha)
Assalaamun Aleykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
(May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah swt be with you)
