Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002) .
(2) Put the safety barriers in position.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the main
landing-gear (MLG) doors in case not properly secured the door levers.
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic
systems.
(5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position at zone 734 for the left (LH) MLG door and/or
zone 744 for the right (RH) MLG door.
(6) Prevent the damage to the anti-ice heat elements (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-860-001) .

NOTE: The following procedure gives the replacement for the LH side. Replacement for the RH side is
equivalent.
(1) Remove the damaged teflon paint:
(a) Remove the damaged teflon paint from the ramp blister and the T-sections with a SCRAPER NON METALLIC.
(b) Remove the bonding primer of the ramp blister and the T-sections with a CLOTH-EMERY
(GRADE 240).
(c) Remove all unwanted material using a VACUUM CLEANER.
(d) Clean the mating surfaces of the ramp blister and the T-sections with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No. 08-BBF1).
(2) Replace sealant:
(a) Fill any gaps between the ramp blister and the T-sections with Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank
Fillet - (Material No. 06-ABB1).
(b) Cure the sealant (refer to the manufacturer's instructions).
(c) Sand the surface of the sealant with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280) and finish with CLOTHEMERY (GRADE 400).
Make sure that you do not remove the remaining sealant from the gaps between T-sections.
(d) Remove all the unwanted material using a VACUUM CLEANER.
(e) Clean the mating surfaces of the ramp blister and the T-sections with Non Aqueous Cleaner-Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No. 08-BBF1).
(3) Paint the central-ramp:
(a) Apply Surface Pretreatment-Light Alloys Chemical Conversion Yellow - (Material No. 10-ABC1).
(b) Apply Primer Polyurethane Paint-- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No. 04-EAC2) or
Primer Epoxy Paint-- Corrosion Inhibiting Structure (Material No. 04-DAB2) to the mating
surfaces of the ramp blister and the T-sections.
(c) Apply Polyurethane Coating-- Abrasion Resistant Structure (Material No. 04-PAD2) to the
surface of the ramp blister and the T-sections.
(d) Let the paint dry (refer to the manufacturer's instructions).
