Taper
The B through coolant design of ADB holders is made according to DIN 69871 Form B.
ADB type holders have two removable sealing plugs in the flange, in order to realise all through coolant types A, AD, or B. For spare plugs and pull studs, see MN 2012
Tooling.
** EPB BT holders with a front end diameter in excess of diameter D5, are produced with the following clearance diameters: BT40 = 62 mm max x 8 mm; BT50 =
98 mm max x 12 mm. This is compatible with the BT JIS norm which permits free dimensions in front of the taper.
*Taper-Face (TF) holders BT are conform to the BT JIS Form ADB norm, except that they have a larger flange towards machine side, with tight tolerances: They
achieve taper and face contacts on machine spindles with Taper-Face dimensions. They are also usable on standard spindles, however a gap remains between spindle
and flange faces.

Main features
Reinforced design:
The Shrinkfit front part OD dimensions are one size wider compared to type 5603. The body part
from flange to Shrinkfit front is conical reinforced.
Periphery through coolant channels, with removable plugging screws:
when using tools without through coolant, remove the plugging screws to direct coolant towards the
cutting edges.
Maximum run-out when measured at a gauge projection of 3 x d (d = bore dia.) in relation to
the external taper or shank is 3 m.
The reinforced design achieves up to 40% more tool transmittable torque and higher rigidity,
for increased productivity and quality performances. The coolant supply directed towards
the cutting edges increases tool life.
Other features, Shrinkfit holders EPB 5600

Shrinkfit front with 4,5 nose angle (similar to DIN type 5603 holders but one size wider)
Internal thread for a stop end screw. A stop end screw is delivered with the holder (similar to DIN type 5603 holders). The stop end screw features
a central hole and a concave front face for through coolant with tools with through coolant.
4 balancing threaded holes for balancing screws (similar to DIN type 5603 holders). A kit of balancing screws is available as accessories.
Due to their dimensions (lack of space), some holders type 5600 dont have threads for stop screws (no stop screw delivered) or no balancing
threaded holes (see information in Product pages).
The coolant channels design and numbers achieve high coolant flow: 2 channels up to 20 mm, 3 channels for 25 and 32 mm.
Coolant channel plugs are designed to be fitted without using additional equipment. Plug removal is easy and reliable.
The reinforced front ends of type 5600 Shrinkfit holders require a specific heating program on the Easyshrink 15 and 20 Skrinkfit devices.

General features as for all Seco Shrinkfit holders

Tool shanks
Cylindrical DIN 1835-1 Form A/ DIN 6535 Form HA.
Shank tolerance
3 to 5 mm maximum h5, tool shank must be carbide or heavy metal (e.g. Densimet). 6 to 32 mm maximum h6, tool shank can be steel,
HSS, carbide or heavy metal. Using h5 for 6 to 32 mm provides a safer minimum clamping torque. Make sure the minimum shrinking depth
l3 shown in the product pages for each holder is respected when fitting the tool shank into the holder.
Balancing
Shrinkfit holders are fine balanced as standard ; except Shrinkfit extensions, being pre-balanced.
Heat resistance
EPB Shrinkfit holders are made from heat resistant steel guaranteeing structure, geometry and dimensional stability after many Shrinkfit heating cycles. The maximum acceptable temperature is 400C.

EPB 5600 Safe-LockTM Shrinkfit holders

The EPB 5600 Safe-Lock Shrinkfit holders combine a pull-out protection system for round
shanked cutting tools with the highly accurate Shrinkfit clamping.
Safe-Lock tool pull-out protection system:

Drive pins are fitted into the Shrinkfit toolholder bores. In combination with spiral-shaped grooves of
the cylindrical cutting tool shank, the pins prevent the tool from being pulled-out of the chuck during
extreme machining. Most SECO Jabro-HPM solid end mills now can be ordered with Safe-Lock
shank execution (grooves) on demand.
Safe-Lock is the solution against tool pull-out effects, it:
- secures the tool clamping,
- avoids tool ejection, workpiece scrapping, and damage on machine spindle,
- ensures optimum process reliability and longer tool life
- increases productivity as the milling cutter can be used with its maximum cutting data.
Tool shanks, suitable for EPB 5600 Safe-Lock holders
Cylindrical DIN 1835-1 Form A/ DIN 6535 Form HA with Safe-Lock shank execution (grooves) on
demand.
Safe-Lock Shrinkfit holders use the EPB 5600 reinforced Shrinkfit design and
features : See Guide page 6.
The reinforced front ends of EPB 5600 Safe-Lock Shrinkfit holders require a specific heating
program on the Easyshrink 15 and 20 Shrinkfit devices.
