Location Address
Willen Lake
V10 Brickhill St,
Milton Keynes
MK15 0DS

Description of the scene that is to be filmed:

Wesley and Cara are completing the list for Hayley, they will be recording
themselves jumping into the lake after a quick note of what they are doing.
Location Suitability:
Lighting: As the location is open-spaced the lighting should be quite bright
depending on the weather and time the scene is filmed. Where the sun is should
also be taken into consideration as well, especially during the free hand shots.
Due to the fact the production needs to be as realistic as possible, artificial
lighting will not be necessary as the natural lighting should be effective.
Noise: As the location is a public place there is always the chance that it could
be busy which could cause noise that will interfere with the dialogue. This can be
controlled by filming at a time where children are at school and adults would be
a work so weekdays would probably be best for filming in this location. The lake
is also quite near a main road so the traffic can be heard in some places but this
can be controlled by choosing somewhere where the noise wont interfere.
Potential Hazards: One of the hazards of the location is the risk of falling from a
small height into the water due to the nature of the scene we will be filming. This
can be minimised by choosing a safe distance from the water to stop running as
it will only be a small clip. Another hazard would be the lose stones on the path
which could cause those on sight to trip or slip, this can be minimised by being
careful when filming and by assessing the area first.

Overall Suitability: The location is suitable for the production as it is a slightly

conventional place for an outing in the Teen Drama genre. Not only that but the
lighting is suitable for the effect that needs to be made for the production and as
long as the scene is filmed at a suitable time, the level of noise shouldnt affect
the dialogue.

Description of the scene that is to be filmed:

There will be many scenes filmed in this location.
The opening party scene will be filmed in this location.
Wesley and Cara are completing the list for Hayley. In this location they will be
learning how to skateboard, dancing until dawn, sleeping under the stars and
setting off the sky lanterns.
Location Suitability:
Lighting: As the location is open-spaced the lighting should be quite bright
depending on the weather and time we film. We will have to be aware of where
the sun is as well especially during the free hand shots. Due to the fact the
production needs to be as realistic as possible, artificial lighting will not be
necessary as the natural lighting should be effective. However as some of the
scenes will be filmed at night, the use of lanterns may be necessary.
Noise: As the location is the home of a production member it shouldnt be any
noise disruption, however there is a main road at the back of the house where

some of the noise travels. This may be hard to avoid but the noise doesnt travel
that much so it shouldnt disrupt filming.
Potential Hazards: One of the hazards is that the decking can get slippery if the
weather has been bad recently and this could cause slipping hazards. There is
also the chance of the crew tripping over the equipment so care must be taken
when around the set.
Overall Suitability: The location is suitable for the production due to the fact that
it could be relatable to our target audience as it is a home. Also there is natural
lighting which will create a realistic tone to the scenes. However there needs to
be consideration for the lighting when filming in the evening. The levels of noise
shouldnt be an issue but the filming will be re-scheduled if necessary. The
location is also easily accessed.

Description of the scene that is to be filmed:

Wesley and Cara are going through Hayleys box of memories and find her video
camera and to-do list before deciding to finish it for her. This is where they start
recording their actions as a memory video.
Location Suitability:
Lighting: As the location is inside the lighting will be slightly dimmer than if the
scene was filmed outside. However this will give the scene a naturalistic tone
and therefore artificial lighting will not be necessary; this is because the
characters will be filmed in front of a rather large window that should let in
enough light for the scene. If this is not the case, artificial lighting will be added.
Noise: As the location is inside, background noise shouldnt be a problem, as the
scene will most likely be filmed when the home is empty to avoid any

interference with the shoot and noise in general.

Potential Hazards: One hazard of this location is that it is quite cluttered and
there could be a chance of tripping over either the contents of the room and the
filming equipment itself. This will be avoided by cleaning the location before
filming commences. Another hazard would be the fact that some furniture sticks
out which could cause injury.
Overall Suitability: The location is suitable for the production as it provides
natural lighting which will create a natural tone to the film, boosting t the realism
of the scene. It would also be relatable to our target audience as it is a
teenagers room and therefore would contain items that may be recognised and
relatable. The location will also have little background noise and is easily
accessed.

Description of the scene that is to be filmed:

In this scene, Hayley, Cara and Wesley are driving home from the party drunk.
Wesley and Hayley are singing in the front and Hayley loses control of the car.
They crash.
Location Suitability:
Lighting: As the location is outside the lighting would be naturalistic which would
be suitable for the production. However the scene will be filmed at night

meaning artificial lighting would need to be used so the scene is clear due to the
nature of the scene. There may have to be experiments with the lighting to find
out which would work best.
Noise: The car will be stationary so there will be no noise from the engine to
drown out the dialogue; however there may be some noise from the roads
nearby but these shouldnt be a problem as the scene can be filmed around the
noises due to time of filming.
Potential Hazards: One hazard of this location would be that despite the car
being stationary there may be an issue with the braking system of the car or the
fact that the scene is filmed in the dark another car wont see the site, both of
which could result in a crash.
Overall Suitability: Overall the location is suitable to a great extent as it is
suitable for the scene that will be filmed as well as there being little noise
disruption and if the site is controlled, the risk of hazards is minimised. The only
issue with the location is the lighting but that is due to the time of shooting
rather than the location.
