GRAMMAR TOPIC: Connectors
CONTEXTUALIZE TOPIC: How to make a recipe.
AIMS
MAIN AIMS:
To identify the basic connectors making a recipe.
PERSONAL AIMS:
To motivate students to participle in the activities developed.
To create an enjoyable and funny class.
To make students feel comfortable with the class.
To keep a good environment between students and the teacher.
To create a meaningful learning in students.

MATERIALS: Board, markers, flashcards, dice, short stories, recipe, pieces of paper.

WHILE

Warming up: teacher will play a game called Simon


Says. Students should stand up and make all the orders
that teacher says them. The teacher will say Simon says
touch your head or both hands up, students should make
all the orders that teacher says. The student who makes
the order wrong has to sit down and cannot play anymore.

Starting the class, teacher will greet students and write


the date on the board. Then, teacher will write eight
connectors on the broad (then, and, after, later, first,
second, but and because) and teacher will ask if they
know how to use it? If they say not teacher will explain
them how to use it.

Later teacher will write a short and easy recipe on the


broad called Fruit Kabobs this recipe has the
connectors said before. Students should write the
recipe and underline the connectors that are on the
recipe in this way they will identify and know how to
use them.

While students are identifying the connectors, teacher


will check the homework left them last class. Then, they
have to underline the connectors that they used in their
routines. After that, teacher will write some sentences
on the broad and students should use a flashcard which
has a connector, students should choose the right
connectors to complete the sentence.
Then, teacher will bring a cube and each side of the
cube has a connector already teaching them. Students
should throw the cube and depending on what
connector appears on the cube, the student should
create a sentence with this connector.

As evaluation, teacher will give to students a short


reading and they should underline the connectors that
they find and answer some questions about the reading.
The homework will be that students should write a
short and easy recipe using the connectors learnt and
for the next class they should bring one of the fruit to
make the recipe that teacher wrote on the broad.
