Bisphenol-A presence in blood may be from other sources in addition to plastic containers of
food. One prominent source is wide spread. The bus tickets we get in Mumbai, Navi
Mumbai, Chennai are printed on thermal-sensitive bispenol printing paper. Further when we
visit any big shops, malls etc our bills/receipts at the cash counters are printed on similar
paper. Also the ATM receipts/prints. The suspect chemical is transferred to hands/fingers, and
to purses, currency notes. So if you handle these receipts/bills, rupee notes, your own purse
and its contents like credit cards etc. you invariably smear your fingers, hands and your shirt
and trouser pockets. So it is a wide spread contaminant. Few wash their hands well with soap
before eating/touching eats like biscuits etc. We ingest bisphenol-A a lot. By the way
speaking of washing: there is another group of contaminants. Present day hand wash and
body wash soaps and soap cakes contain chemicals like triclosan, cyclocarbon, cyclokarbon
and so on. These latter muscle damaging chemicals are particularly present in high-end soaps.
So beware. The Government at State and Union level should ban these from our midst in the
interest of public health
