About SQA:
The Society of Quality Assurance (SQA) is a nonprofit, international quality
assurance professional membership society based in United States. Current
membership of the Society exceeds 2,700 Active and Affiliate members in over 30
countries working in industry, government, academia and consulting. The Society
includes general membership, special interest and administrative Committees,
Regional Chapters and Specialty Sections.
SQA represents professionals in pharmaceutical, agricultural, biomedical, industrial,
chemical, contract testing and research organisations, as well as academia, regulatory
agencies, and independent consultants.
SQA provides leadership to these professionals through its regional chapters and
specialty sections and extensive development programs of meetings, lectures and
information exchanges.
SQA fosters interaction, communication and high professional standards and supports
extensive interaction with regulatory agencies. SQA recognizes and supports high
professional standards, knowledge and experience through registration examinations,
currently offered in the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice
(GCP) disciplines.
SQA Registration examinations in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) will
commence sooner or later.
Professionals in this Society are challenged to perform duties relating to quality
assurance of:
Non-clinical laboratory studies subject to the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
regulations of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA);
Clinical studies subject to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations of the FDA
and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) ; and
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) worldwide.
SQA Membership:
Essentially open to everybody interested/involved in the QA profession.
Knowledge/interest and/or training in the basic sciences are added advantages.
