MINUTES OF ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON 3 RD NOV 2015

PRESENT
Rt Hon Amolo Odinga (In the Chair)
Hon James Orengo
Hon Prof Anyang Nyongo (Sec)
Hon Oburu Odinga
Hon Jakayo Midiwo
AGENDA: Strategy Progress Review
The committee opened with a word of prayer from the secretary.
All members felt that the last two weeks had been successfully navigated and that a
lot of pressure has been placed on Jubilee.

CS Waiguru is weathering her worst storm

The Eurobond is turning into Jubilees worst nightmare
Press contribution from KTN and Standard has been exemplary and due
reward to our supporters in the two must be kept up.

Challenges:
a)
The issue of sustainability. The December holidays are about to kick in and we
can lose momentum. The issue of Waiguru must be concluded before then.
b)

Funds shortfall. We still have challenges. JW has come through

for
even beyond what he originally promised but 2016 will
require
revenues.

us
huge

c)

Our foreign allies are being two faced as usual. However, it is expected that
the headlines of corruption will lead to some positive tilt to our side.

Immediate goals.
The year is ending and we have reached a suitable climax in our key issues.
However, we are not there yet and if we do not finalize matters like Waigurus
removal, the country will get into a let us wait for elections mood.
Standard and KTN need support from other fronts, and the key issues we must keep
emphasizing are:
a) H.E is unwilling to fight corruption.
b) The economy is in total doldrums and cannot recover.
c) That the Kalenjin vote will not be with Jubilee this time.

H.Es key lieutenants and thinkers must also be cut off from him and destroyed.
Waiguru and the youth program would be a major setback for us if rural youth will be
engaged in her programs in an election year.

1) TEACHERS: Chairman must issue a strong statement if the court rules

against the teachers. The media mantra that the Judiciary is pro-government
should be the main theme in the coming week. If this is successfully done,
there is a possibility to open up mass action this time, we can take it up with
the teachers leadership again.

2) EUROBOND: The weekend papers need to start bringing this up vigorously.

The Kenyan weekly will carry an analysis of this one and build it up as being
larger than Goldenberg and Anglo Leasing.

3) THE RIFT VALLEY VOTE: The success in bringing Keter on board will be a

litmus test on this one. But we must be cautious and our spin doctors should
not be too aggressive about magnifying a Jubilee split, Uhuru is likely to
counter this by some show of unity that could backfire on us. Timing is key.
However, JW has taken this as a pet project and he promises to push this
matter independently. He already has proved his mettle and his resources
have made a huge difference.

4) PROPAGANDA: The Kenyan Weekly will have a good reach. JW has already

committed Kshs 200 Million for the year to ensure the publication runs
professionally. We will be running regular polls starting next week, Angela is
doing something to show that Waiguru has no support in Central.

Our next meeting will be in a fortnight at the same venue.

Hon. Prof Peter Anyang Nyong

SECRETARY GENERAL
