3. Be a good listener
4. Asking skill
5. Giving opinion
6. Telling information
V. LEARNING MATERIAL
pH and water pollution
The pH value can be used as the parametres of water quality. as we know that the pH
of pure water is 7. But, naturally water is seldom to have the pH value 7. For example, rain
water, it has tendency to have pH less than 7. This matter is happened because the carbon
dioxide in the air can be soluble in the rain water and form carbonic acid. The rain water

can be said as acid rain if the pH less tahn 5,6. Generally, the minimum and the maximum
pH of clean water is 6,5-8,5.
VI. LEARNINGMODEL :
Learning model
: Cooperative
Type
: Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)
Learning method
: Experiment, discussion, presentation and question and answer
VII. TOPIC

: Acid Base Solution

SUBTOPIC

: Application of the pH concept in the pollution

VIII. LEARNING ACTIVITY

A. Introduction
Phase 1 : Present Goals and Set
Exploration
1. Teacher relate the topic by giving some question about degree of acidity (pH) of acid
base solution
2. Teacher motivate the student by asking is the water that we are drunk have pH=7?
3. Teacher explain the learning objectives to students
B. Main Activity
Phase 2 : Present Information
Elaboration
4. Teacher explain outline of matter that will be studied.
5. Teacher inform about learning model that will be used.
Phase 3 : Organize Student into learning team
6. Teacher divided students into some groups. Each group consist of three students
heterogeneously.
7. Teacher conditioning students to gather with their groups.
8. Teacher distribute worksheet to each student.
Phase 4 : Assist teamwork and study
9. Teacher ask student to start the experiment
10. Teacher walk around and monitoring the activities of students during experiment,
emphasize that responsibility, cooperate well, be good leader in experiment group is
required to students
11. Teacher guide students in finishing worksheet based on experiment result
accurately, teliti, emphasize honest, can be trusted, and help friend that needed is
required to students.
Phase 5 : Test over materials

12. Teacher ask student to present the result of their discussion in front of the class and
other students become good listener, emphasize that open minded and listen friends
opinion to student during discussion.
13. Teacher gives opportunity student to ask (give question).
14. Teacher gives opportunity student to express their opinion about answer of other
friend.
C. Closure
Phase 6: Provide recognition
15. Teacher gives reward for the best group, great group and super group.
Confirmation
16. Teacher give feedback to the learning material
17. Teacher guide students to make summary or conclusion of this matter
18. Teacher end the learning process.
IX. LEARNING SOURCE
1. Student handbook
2. Worksheet
3. Material and Equipment to research and calculate pH of river water
X. ASSESMENT
1. Product
2. Process
