Purpose
To establish a uniform method for selecting, designating and assigning responsibilities.

Scope
Project work activities in project Sites.
Competent persons will be designated for the following:
Rigging
Electrical Assured grounding
Excavation and trenching operation
Scaffolds
Ladders
Safety harness and
Fire Protection.

Responsibilities
Project Management to designate the competent person
Sub Contractor Project Team to the deploy personnel required
The competent person is responsible for complying with required operations, inspection,
testing, repairs, machinery and equipment maintenance, and maintenance of an accident
prevention program which includes such areas as:
- Rigging
- Electrical assured grounding
- Excavation and Trenching Operations
- Scaffolds
- Fire Extinguishers
- Motor Vehicles
- Ladders
- Safety Harnesses

Qualifications
The designated competent person must have an immediate knowledge of the subject, either
by years of experience in the designated field or specialized training in the:
Job or activity being performed
Current operations
Technology and controls
Potential hazards
Safety and health standards as applied
