Rules For Forest Community Pressure Group Husting Events

Organisation

All Parliamentary candidates from all parties in the given area to be invited to attend.
FCPG & the Event is a none for profit occasion and all monies collected on the night (Hopefully) will
cover the costs and any excess will be used to support future activities of the Group in the local area.

Forest Community Pressure Group's purpose is :


To provide and manage a suitably run arena for the residents of Acresford, Albert Village, Appleby
Magna, Boothorpe, Chilcote, Donisthorpe, Measham, Moira, Oakthorpe, and the surrounding area,
which will provide joint and collaborative pressure, from both residents and elected representatives,
to enhance, support and defend a wide range of services, activities and other opportunities beneficial
to the local community. The Groups motto is 'by working together we achieve', ' by consulting we
know', ' by knowing we act' and 'by action we make a difference.'

Questions From The Public

• Questions should be condensed to no more than 50 Words.


• Questions to be submitted by email or on the day/night in a question box at the venue
• Questions submitted by email by 12 noon the day prior to the event to the event to allow
time for them to be sorted and printed.
• Should similar question's be submitted the organisers reserve the right to condense into one
question or to choose the Question which seems to encapsulate the general thrust of all of
them.
• Questions will be sorted into 3 sections, Local, National & International. This should be stated
when submitting a Question as well name and place of residence.
• Supplementary questions may be considered at the discretion of the Chair. This should be
stated at the beginning of the Husting, based upon numbers of questions submitted and time
allocation. The chair also has the authority to return to the questioner and ask for a 30 second
view of the answers - eg: situation more clear about the parties policies or still not clear (or
similar). If the Chair is comfortable with that it might help round off each Question.
• Should all submitted question be asked and answered prior to the end of the allocated time,
the chair should open questions from the floor before the Husting is formally be drawn to a
close.
• MOP's will be asked to be courteous at all times to all the panel, whether they like the answer
or not !

Parliamentary Candidates

• Parliamentary Candidates will be asked not to waffle and to get to the point. (This is a
question and answer session not a party political broadcast.)
• Answers from each Parliamentary Candidate will also be condensed into a strict time frame of
no more than 2 minutes per Candidate. Extra time is only allowed at the discretion of the chair
and only in exceptional circumstances. A cut off bell or other similar 'times up' noise will be
activated as soon at the 2 minutes is reached.
• MP's & Prospective Parliamentary Candidates will be asked to be courteous at all times to all
the panel, whether they like the question or not! or even the answer given by the opposing
candidate !

The Press & Media


Will have a designated volunteer for all enquiries both prior to during and post event contact

Further Considerations
Inform the local Police Authority of your event as soon as you possible can
A PA System May be Required
Consider a separate E-mail Account for Questions to be submitted to
Posters
Ensure Good Clear signage to the event
