Fox Valley Veterans Council Receives Donations

from AT&T and Hooper Law Office to Support
its Efforts to End Veteran Homelessness
Council Receives $5,000 AT&T Donation,
Cuts Ribbon on New Office Donated by Hooper Law
Event Also Kicks Off Cell Phones For Soldiers Drive November 13-30
APPLETON, Friday, November 13, 2015 AT&T and Hooper Law Office, LLC honored the Fox Valley Veterans
Council (FVVC) today during a special celebration. A ribbon cutting celebrated the FVVCs new office space, which
is being donated along with rent and office services by Hooper Law Office.
AT&T also presented a $5,000 AT&T Innovation & Investment Award to support the FVVCs efforts to end veteran
homelessness. The AT&T donation will support the FVVCs Veterans Emergency Fund, which provides support
and transitional housing to veterans on their path to stability and permanent housing.
Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country and deserve our support, said Jim Strong, FVVC president.
Unfortunately, veterans make up a portion of our homeless population. Our mission is to help support those
homeless veterans in their time of need and provide assistance to help them get back on their feet. The Fox Valley
Veterans Council wants to thank Hooper Law and AT&T for their support and collaboration that will improve our
ability to serve our area veterans.
Todays ribbon cutting officially opened the FVVCs new home, which is located within the newly constructed wing
of Hooper Law Office. The partners at Hooper Law Office chose to donate the space, rent and office services as
part of their expansion earlier this year. The law firm assists veterans with estate planning and elder law related
issues, and is an associate member of the Fox Valley Veterans Council.
We are hopeful that this location, which is close to many other veterans services, will enhance the Councils
accessibility in the community, said Attorney Peter B. Harbach, partner, Hooper Law Office. We are very proud to
honor the FVVC and the work they do to benefit our veterans.

AT&Ts donation will enable the FVVC to continue providing the initial financial assistance to establish veterans in
transitional housing designed for individual veterans, single female veterans and their children, or veterans and
their families. This project opens the door for veterans to receive essential services in job training and financial
management while on the path to permanent housing and personal economic stability.
For more than 100 years, AT&T has been committed to showing our support for our troops and our veterans each
and every day, said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin. We are very proud to support the
mission of the Fox Valley Veterans Council to provide a helping hand to our homeless veterans.
Additionally, AT&T, the FVVC and Hooper Law Office joined together today to launch a community-wide cell phone
recycling drive at six locations in Appleton to support U.S. military troops. All recycled cell phones will be donated
to Cell Phones For Soldiers, a charity that uses recycling proceeds to buy and send free phone cards to military
members stationed away from home.
I know firsthand how important it is for those serving our country and for family back home to communicate with
their loved ones during a deployment, said Senator Roger Roth, who is a member of the Wisconsin National
Guard. I encourage everyone with old cell phones to donate them and provide our troops with free calls home.
The collection drive will take place from November 13-30. Collection points in Appleton include:

Phones For Soldiers. AT&T also provides donations in Wisconsin to local organizations that give back to their
communities through the AT&T Wisconsin Innovation & Investment Award program.

those still serving, their families and survivors. The nonprofit collaborates with veteran service organizations and
other public and private partners that support veterans.
