1. This assignment contains only ONE (1) question that is set in both Malay and English. /
Tugasan ini mengandungi SATU (1) soalan sahaja yang disediakan dalam bahasa Melayu
dan bahasa Inggeris.
2. Answer in Malay or English. / Jawab dalam bahasa Melayu atau bahasa Inggeris.
3. Learners are to submit assignment only in MsWord format unless specified otherwise. Please
refrain from converting text/phrases into picture format such as .gif / .jpeg / print screen / etc.

4. Download the language version of the assignment template concerned from the MyVLE for

7. You can submit your assignment ONCE only in a SINGLE file. The file must be in MSWORD format. Please ensure that you submit the CORRECT and latest version of file. File

ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
According to the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a
developmentally appropriate practice is designed to promote young childrens optimal
learning and development.
In this assignment, you are requested to:
a. Discuss your understanding regarding developmentally appropriate practices in early
childhood care and education settings;
b. Observe a teaching and learning activity/session by a practitioner in an early childhood
care and education centre (Nursery or Kindergarten or Preschool). Report your
observation focussing on the developmentally appropriate practices; and
c. Based on your classroom observation, provide suggestions on how developmentally
appropriate practices can be applied in an early childhood care and education settings.
To complete this assignment, you are adviced to do a vigorous literature review from
various resources (text books, journals, proceeding papaers, guide-line books from
relevant agencies, on-line documents, or browsing relevant agencies web-site).
Do make sure that you have the permission of the centres authorities to have access to
the centre and implementing your observation at the early childhood centre.

SOALAN TUGASAN
Menurut National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC), amalan
bersesuaian perkembangan (developmentally appropriate practice) dirancang untuk
menggalakkan perkembangan dan pembelajaran optimal kanak-kanak kecil.
Untuk tugasan ini, anda dikehendaki untuk:
a. Bincangkan pemahaman anda berhubung amalan bersesuaian perkembangan
(developmentally appropriate practice) dalam seting pengasuhan dan pendidikan
awal kanak-kanak;
b. Laksanakan pemerhatian ke atas aktiviti/sesi pengajaran dan pembelajaran oleh
seorang pengamal di dalam seting pengasuhan dan pendidikan awal kanak-kanak
(TASKA atau TADIKA atau Prasekolah). Laporkan pemerhatian anda dengan
memberi tumpuan terhadap amalan bersesuaian perkembangan; dan
c. Berdasarkan pemerhatian bilik darjah anda, cadangkan bagaimana anda boleh
melaksanakan amalan bersesuaian perkembangan dalam seting pengasuhan dan
pendidikan awal kanak-kanak.
Untuk menyempurnakan tugasan ini anda dikehendaki melakukan rujukan pembacaan
dari pelbagai sumber (buku teks, jurnel, kertas prosiding, buku garis panduan agensi
berkaitan, dokumen-dokumen atas talian, atau melayari laman-laman web agensi
berkaitan).
Pastikan bahawa anda mempunyai kebenaran daripada pihak berkuasa pusat untuk
melaksanakan pemerhatian anda di dalam pusat pendidikan awal kanak-kanak tersebut.
