Application of Linear Scheduling with Genetic Algorithm Method at Breakwater Construction Project in
Kalibaru Port
Universitas Indonesia June 20, 2014
Authors: Ibrahim .
Breakwater is a linear construction project with repetitive work activities, but in Indonesia scheduling for
repetitive projects are still using conventional scheduling, particularly in the construction of breakwater
project in Kalibaru Jakarta. Linear scheduling method with genetic algorithm is applied in the construction
of breakwater at the Port of Kalibaru considering the method has many advantages. This study conducted
two analyzes, which consists of the productivity and cost analysis functions as well as functions of least
cost scheduling genetic algorithm. The optimization results with an increase in the productivity of each job,
will increase costs, and reduce the duration of the work. The selection of the best productivity results best
duration is 231 days with total cost of Rp. 246,550,908,434 with saving of 288 days and additional cost of
Rp. 145,958,232,320. Analysis of least cost scheduling combined with genetic algorithm is obtained optimal
duration and cost of 410 days at a cost of Rp. 112,221,641,972. This saves the cost of Rp. 3,266,034,920 and
saves time by 108 days.

This final project entitling Quality Control on Upper Structure Work at the Signature Park Apartment Project
explains the quality control procedure on upper structure work including column, core wall, shear wall,
slab, and beam. Quality control consists of formwork, reinforcement, and casting procedures. Factors that
affect the quality control were also investigated. Quality controls on upper structure works consist of testing
material (trial mix, crushing test, tension test, and bend test) and check list analysis. In the trial mix test, the
compressive strength required is 22.75 MPa, while the average compressive strength obtained is 29.18 MPa.
As for the crushing test, compressive strength required is 35 MPa and the average test result achieved 39.78
MPa. The minimum BJTS 40 yield strength required is 390 Mpa and the minimum ultimate strength is 500
Mpa. The tension test resulted that the yield strength result average is 447 MPa and ultimate strength average

is 621 MPa. From the bend test result, the reinforcement steel bar did not crack in angle 180# curve. For the
work of 1st up to 19th floor, the compliance average of works is about 88.25% from the work check list.
All the above requirements are based on PBI and SNI. Based on the above test result, it can be concluded
that quality control procedures on upper structure works complied with the specification and there was
no corrective and preventive action. Factors affecting the quality control system on upper structure works
encompass tools, materials, and manpower. Keyword: Quality Control, Reinforcement Steel Bar, Concrete,
