integrated into content instruction (Information Power; Principle 2; Pg. 58) AASL Standards for the 21st-Century Learner are integrated into content instruction
At the beginning of this school year, every
ELA teacher brought their classes in for library orientation. During this time, I was able to address how to look for information, but that only hit the surface of BASIC the topic. During my collaborative lesson, I was able to review with students how to avoid plagiarism and discuss with them basic research skills again. I would like to provide lessons and more in depth lessons on how to locate information in the media center/information literacy skills lessons. The classroom teacher is responsible During my collaborative lesson, I worked for assessing student achievement. with the ELA teacher to create a rubric and I assisted in the grading of the projects, but BASIC this does not happen consistently. I will encourage teachers to let me help and assist with this task in the future. Strategies will be discussed with the teachers to improve this indicator. Students will be given instruction in In the past, I have shown my students accessing GALILEO. The password will be GALILEO and how to use GALILEO, but provided in a timely manner. they do not like to use this resource. I do have the password posted for all to see, but BASIC it is not widely used. Moving forward, not only will I make sure the teachers have the password for posting, I will develop and deliver an in-depth lesson on using GALILEO. Working with the teachers and requiring students to use this resources would also help the students become familiar and comfortable with the resource.

Action Plan
Action Plan 3. Professional library media staff are engaged in active teaching role/s.
The Library Media Specialist and teachers
plan and teach collaboratively so that the library media program is an extension of classroom instruction. PROFICIENT
I have planned with other teachers and
have had successful lessons in the media center. I do offer and encourage teachers to come to the media center and let me help with various lessons. The media center is an extension of the classroom at WMS, but not all of the teachers take advantage of my offering to help. As of now, I attend the ELA department meetings. Moving forward, I will attend all of the different departments meetings. I feel like this will encourage them to collaborate with me more.
