At the beginning of this school year, every

ELA teacher brought their classes in for
library orientation. During this time, I was
able to address how to look for
information, but that only hit the surface of

was able to review with students how to
avoid plagiarism and discuss with them
basic research skills again. I would like to
provide lessons and more in depth lessons
on how to locate information in the media
center/information literacy skills lessons.

library media program is an extension of

I have planned with other teachers and

have had successful lessons in the media
center. I do offer and encourage teachers to
come to the media center and let me help
with various lessons. The media center is
an extension of the classroom at WMS, but
not all of the teachers take advantage of my
offering to help. As of now, I attend the
ELA department meetings. Moving
forward, I will attend all of the different
departments meetings. I feel like this will
encourage them to collaborate with me
more.
