something is allowed by the Constitution
Jury trial-when a group of 12 people hears the case, listens to
the evidence and gives the verdict

Law- the whole system of rules that everyone in a country or
society must obey

Legislator- the person who makes laws
Miscarriage of justice- a situation in which a court makes a
wrong decision, especially when somebody is punished when
they are innocent

Plaintiff- person who initiates a civil lawsuit
Regulations- the rules the executive branch makes about how
