Letter of Recommendation

I take a lot of pleasure in recommending Mr. Bharath Krishnakumar, with whom I have had close
association with for the last four years, to the graduate study program at your university. I feel he is an
honest and sincere student who has shown significant progress towards the goals he wanted to achieve
when he started college.
I took classes for him on Network security. Bharath is very enthusiastic in class and his curiosity
for learning new things is supplemented by educational resources from the Internet. With a clear
understanding of theoretical concepts, Bharath had a good grasp on the laboratory course which
comprised of learning software like Mat Lab and Num Py. He has good interpretation skills and the
experiments made him aware of the challenges faced in real world environments.
He is one of the very few students who firmly believe that What we know is drop,What we dont
know is an ocean.So expand his horizons he has taken numerous courses on the online learning
platforms like EDX and Coursera where he has completed more than 10 courses. These courses are on
different topics like Data sciences,Programming,Embedded systems etc.
I was his mentor for his final year project on IMAGE STEGANOGRAPHY which was based
on Digital image Processing and Network security.Bharath had not taken a classroom course on Digital
Image Processing but had taken an online course offered by Duke University on it and passed with
distinction. The ideas that he would come up during our discussions would baffle me, as his opinions
were usually out of the box. He lucidly explained his algorithms that he implemented to solve the
problem statement.He always finds a solution to the problem regardless of the toughness.He has always
met the deadlines that I gave him.
His way of organizing and planning things well ahead of exams has reflected in his very good
GPA. Bharath is among the select group of students whom the college recommended to top level
government institutes like the DRDO where he did his internship. This supplemented his practical
knowledge about the workplace.
Going beyond the courseware, he has involved himself with a lot of projects. He and his team
presented their idea on Unmanned aerial vehicle to Mr Avinash Chander, Director of DRDO. Taking
further initiative, Bharath also devotes time to extra curricular activities. He was in the Multimedia
designer at Wrecking Web where he is designed a Website and edited videos for the Department of
Electronics and Communication engineering.
