Dutch Forks Annual

Mitten Tree
Dutch Fork Elementary will sponsor a
Mitten Tree project during the holiday
season. Students, staff and community
members may donate mittens, gloves,
hats and socks. We will hang them on the
tree in the schools cafeteria lobby. Donated items will be given to a
local charity to distribute to families in need during the winter months.
Donations will be accepted from November 30 until December 18.

open in Columbiana
Center, we invite you to
please sign up for their
Royalty Card. They
have a section where you
can add a school name.
The school will receive
1% of your purchase
amount. There are 4
people signed up as of
right now for DFES!

Would you like to help raise money for

DFES teachers to buy books for their
classroom libraries? Here is an easy way!
Cut out and send in Box Tops for
Education and/or Labels for Education. Make sure to put your childs
name, teachers name and grade level
on the bag or envelope. Last year our
school raised around $1200 just from
these little labels on the items that
you probably have in your pantry or in your house right now! How
easy is that? Look for the graph in the cafeteria to see how much each
grade level has collected. Look for flyers to come home soon that have
a list of all participating products. Thanks to all of you who have been
sending them in!! Keep them coming! Look here next month for an
update on how much money we have raised so far this year! Lets go
Dutch Fork!!

A note from Nurse Linda . . .

Parents please be reminded that any medication given at school must have
a permission slip signed and on file in the health room. This includes cough drops.
You can get the permission slip on the district web site at www.lexrich5.org under
Health Services. If you have any questions please call the health room at 4763906.
Remember, if your child is sent home with a fever he/she will have to be
fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medication before returning to
school. Now, here are a few reminders about the cold and flu season!
Sneeze into your sleeve if you do not have a tissue
Wash your hands frequently
Get plenty of rest
Lets all stay healthy and germ free this winter! If you have any questions
please feel free to call Nurse Linda in the health room at 476-3906.

Lost and Found

During the course of the year many items of clothing are left at school and
end up in our lost and found bin. So much so, that we are now donating all
items to a local shelter at the end of each month. Parents, these items of
clothing cost you lots of hard earned dollars so please make sure you have
your child check lost and found frequently to retrieve these nice coats,
jackets, hats, gloves and many other articles of clothing. You can also stop
by the school and look through the bin. It would be helpful if you make sure
your childs name and grade are on the labels. If they are found they can be
returned. This is a simple process that can be done with a permanent
Sharpie marker. Thanks so much for your help!

Your engraved brick will be a permanent piece of the outdoor learning environment that your funds are
supporting! Bricks will line the pathway in the Secret Garden, beside the Mini-Theater. 100% of
proceeds will support and maintain our school gardens, outdoor learning areas, and other
environmental projects which have become integral to our mission of developing students who love the
world we live in and express critical thinking through natural curiosity and wonder.
