West Bengal isthe source, transit, and destination point for trafficking. The state also serves as a link between the North-Eastern States and the rest of India. The State has international boundaries with Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. Due to its crucial location in India, the vulnerable locenere and groups in West Bengal are not just Prone to intra and inter-state trafficking, but also to intemational trafficking. result of the inordinate delay in the process, the repatriation of the childes has been) effected. With the objective of prevention, rescue, safe return and ensuring speedy repatriation the Government of West Bengal i setting up State Task Force on combating human Trafficking and focal point in this regard.
