SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE
PRINCIPAL BUTEHS/MS
PRINCIPAL MANZELEMENTARY
On behalf of the students, staff, administration, and Board of Education, a thank you to
the voters of the district for your support of
the Income Tax levy renewal. Your financial support will allow the district to advance the effort to provide a high quality
education for our students.
It is difficult to believe that we are approaching the end of the second grading
period. The first semester will come to a
conclusion on Friday, December 18. It is a
good time to remind you that our high
school students will be taking their semester
exams on Thursday, December 17 and Friday, December 18, so attendance is vital.
ELA TestingDuring the mornings of December 8 and 9, our third grade students will
be taking the fall English Language Arts
online test. There are two sessions to this
test. Students will complete one session on
the 8th, and the second session on the 9th.
The results from this test will be used to
determine whether or not a student has
achieved the satisfactory score for the Third
Grade Reading Guarantee. If a student does
not pass the fall test, they will have a second
chance to pass in the spring. Please be sure
that your child gets a good nights sleep and
a healthy breakfast on these days, to give
your child the best chance to do well on this
test. For more guidance on the Third Grade
Reading Guarantee, navigate to http://
education.ohio.gov/Topics/Early-Learning/
Third-Grade-Reading-Guarantee.
As we approach the end of the second grading period, I encourage parents to utilize
Progressbook to stay informed of your
childs grades. If you have any questions
about grades, I encourage you to contact the
classroom teacher. You can contact them by
voicemail or email.
Honor RollI would like to congratulate
each of our students who earned their place
on the Honor Roll for the first grading period. The middle/high school had approximately 220 students earning this placement,
which demonstrates the emphasis on academics. One of our goals is to continually
challenge these students towards their true
academic potential.
The staff would like to thank the parents
who attended the Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 27 and November 5. The
more interaction/communication between
the school and home, the greater success our
students will achieve. I would like to thank
the middle/high school staff for their efforts.
They are truly a dedicated group who has
your childs best interest at heart.
The Jostens representative took graduation
orders on October 22. If your child didnt
order his/her graduation items, then youll
need to order on-line or mail your order to
Jostens. If you have any questions, please
contact the high school office.
